Ch. 86 One Happy Family

Megan POV
I wake up the next day. Hadley takes me to the private apartment so I can get my car. She goes back to the penthouse. I drive to Jet Records. I'm not feeling nervous at all. I haven't seen Bryson in a long time.
I get there and I get on the elevator to his office. I'm surprised that I remembered. I walk to his door of his office and his secretary stops me.

Amanda: Wait, excuse me Miss. Do you have an appointment to see Mr. Bryson?
Megan: No, but I have to talk to him.
Amanda: I don't think I'm supposed to let you through.
Megan: I'm his daughter-in-law. I need to talk to him.
Amanda: Oh. Well....okay.
Megan: Thank you.

I knock on his door.

Bryson: Come in.

I open the door and he's shocked to see me. I close the door and walk to him.

Bryson: Megan, w-wh—
Megan: Didn't think you'll see me huh?
Bryson: No I didn't. But—
Megan: Look here, I'm pregnant so let me talk first.

Bryson POV
She's pregnant?!!! Holy shit!!!

Megan: Look, I can't lie to you. What you did to me a year ago hurt me. A lot. You didn't know me then and you still don't know me now. You honestly didn't believe that I had what it took to be successful in the music industry. Well, I've proven that wrong. On top of that, you didn't like the fact that I'm with your son. Here's the deal, I love him with all my heart. I married him because I love him and he's everything to me. You thought that you were going to lose your family, but it has gotten bigger. Literally. Plus, you know my parents died when I was 15. Then, you found my family that I never knew about. One of them reached out to me and wanted to get to know me and Tony. So we went and visited them and we love them to death and they love us. For me to be able to have my family even after losing my parents means everything to me.

She is really speaking from her heart.

Megan: I just want you to know that Tony still loves and cares about you. I want you two to restore your relationship. Especially now. I want my baby to be around a loving and caring family.

I definitely take in what she's saying. She does mean well.

Bryson: Megan, I appreciate you coming here talking to me. And you are right. I was worried about losing my family. My kids are everything to me. All I ever wanted was the best for them.
Megan: I understand.
Bryson: I really do want to fix everything. I'm sorry. Will you ever forgive me?

Megan POV
The inside of me feels great. Bryson is really stepping up.

Megan: I forgive you. You are my dad now.
Bryson: Thank you Megan.

He extends his arms out for a hug and I go hug him. We embrace in a warm hug.

Bryson: You are a good person Megan.
Megan: I try.

We pull apart.

Bryson: So you are pregnant eh?
Megan: Haha. I am. I'm six weeks. I'm not showing just yet.
Bryson: Oh my goodness. I'm going to be a grandfather.
Megan: Haha. Yep. Promise me you won't miss any milestone in this baby's life.
Bryson: I promise.
Megan: Good. I want you and Tony to talk as well.
Bryson: I will make that happen.

I leave his office feeling much better. I'm glad he and I sorted everything out. Now all he has to do is talk to Tony.

Tony POV
I get a text from my dad to meet him at the house. The next day, mom and I go over to see what he wants. My parents have worked everything out. My mom and Hadley are moving back in the house.
I get to the house and he lets me in. We go to the living room and sit down.

Tony: What is this all about?
Bryson: Megan came by my office yesterday.
Tony: Yeah. She told me everything went good.
Bryson: It did.
Tony: What did she say?

Dad told me everything that Megan told him.

Tony: Woah. She didn't tell me that last night. All she said was to wait till I hear from you.
Bryson: She meant well. Honestly, son I'm sorry.
Tony: What?
Bryson: I'm sorry. I was just worried about your well-being.
Tony: Dad, I'm a grown man now. I know what I'm doing. Megan came into my life and changed everything for the better.
Bryson: I realized that. She really is a great person. And I'm proud to have her as my daughter-in-law.

Hearing my dad call Megan his daughter-in-law warms me.

Tony: I appreciate it dad.
Bryson: Of course son. Plus, she told me that she's pregnant.
Tony: I'm excited.
Bryson: I'm happy for both of you. This is going to be my first grandchild. Ah. I love it.

We both laughed. It's good to have everything fixed between my dad and I.

Bryson: Is it okay if I come see the new house?
Tony: Sure. It's just about done. We move in the house in a few days.
Bryson: If you two need anything, I'm here.
Tony: Thanks dad.
