"Have fun at the slumber party dear!"  My mom called from the passenger seat of the car and I only rolled my eyes at her.

Sometimes she really treated me like a child.

As I walked up to Kayla's house I couldn't get over how it did not look any different.

It was the same red brick house it had always been with the same 'Welcome to the Marx residants'  plaque next to the door.  I smiled as I rang the doorbell still hearing the all too familiar chime as it echoed through the whole house.

Within seconds the door swung open with a gleeful looking Kayla standing before me.

"That dinner took a while."  She said and I sighed.

"Tell me about it."

"Well come in silly.  Me and Madison are about to apply sea weed masks in my room!"  Kayla tugged me in and I laughed as I followed her up the staircase that I had been up a thousand times before.

As she pulled me in her room I noted a short dark haired girl sitting on the floor painting her nails.  "You must me Hayley!  Kayla told me so much about you!  I'm Madiosn."  Madison said cheery, making her light blue eyes glow.

"I'm hoping good things."  I joked sitting down next to Madison leaning against Kayla's bed for support.

"Hayley, you've been my friend for 12 years.  I don't have much bad things to say about you.  Well besides totally embarrassing things."  Kayla joked and I gasped.

"You would never!"

"You'll never know."  Kayla said all coyly but, I knew there were so childhood memories she just couldn't resist but, tell people about.

"So how was dinner?"  Kayla asked changing the subject.

"Long but, the food was good."  I admitted.

The dinner might have been better if I didn't have to sit across that douche, Adam Calleja.

"So you were friends with Lucas too right?"  Madison asked and stopped painting her nails.  Setting the polish aside to join in our conversations.

"Yeah.  Back in the day we were like the three amigos."  I paused and then looked at Kayla who already seemed upset by just the mention of Lucas' name.

"Speaking of Lucas how the hell did he get shipped off to military school?!"

"She didn't tell you?!"  Madison looked at Kayla in awe as Kayla only sighed.

"Hayley you were gone for two years by now and Lucas wasn't the same person he was back in eighth grade."  Kayla explained.

"I mean what changed?  He still had you right?"  I asked.  I mean yes, Lucas could be a little wild sometimes.  Like playing pranks or going a little too far in a game of truth or dare but, come on military school.

"Me and Lucas hung out a lot our freshman year but, towards the end of it he had this obsession to be 'in' with 'them.'  First he would casually talk to them and then he was going to their parties and by the time sophomore year rolled around he was practically one of them.  Yeah, I was mad he was ditching me for them but, if he was truly happy than I was okay with it.  I mean we all thought they liked him but, it was weird.  They just turned on him."  Kayla shook her head and Madison did the same.

"Okay who the heck is 'them' and what do you mean they turned on him?"  I was generally getting confused and annoyed.  Who were these people and what was so great about them that made Lucas so obsessed?

"Everyone calls them the 'Trinity.'  It's the three most popular guys in the school and to most girls most good looking guys in the school_"

"_Right on!"  Madison chimed in snapping her fingers and I laughed at her.
