"So it's completely mandatory that we wear these?" I asked on the way to my first day at North Harbor Academy. I decided
to drive considering I had just gotten a brand new car and Kayla decided she wanted to tag along for the same reason.
Kayla laughed and continued skimming through songs on her phone to play on the way to school.
"Yeah. I mean they're not that bad and you make it look good if it's any consolation." Kayla gave me a winning smile but, I sighed looking down at my lap at the hideous navy blue plaid skirt that I had to wear everyday.
Back when I was in eighth grade I had visited North Harbor Academy thinking that I was going to go there anyways and I remembered thinking all the older kids looked so cool in these hideous uniforms.
God I was so mentally disturbed as a child.
"I miss public school." I whinned and Kayla looked at me intently.
"At least you got to go to one."
True. The grade school we all went to as children was a private school and North Harbor Academy was the private school.
It was one of the best preparatory high schools in the country as well as the best in the state. Don't get me wrong grade school wasn't exactly terrible but, once I got to high school in Miami and got to wear whatever I wanted it was a very nice change.
"So are you nervous about volleyball tryouts today?" Kayla asked as she nonchalantly pointed to the road I was supposed to turn on to get to North Harbor.
I made a right and rolled back my shoulders. "Not really. Yeah North Harbor has a good volleyball team but, so did my old high school. I should be fine."
"Good because that's phase one." Kayla said and then rubbed her hands together melodramatically.
I sighed thinking about our plan. Honestly what was the chance this was even going to work. I mean even if I get in with the 'Trinity' which by the way may not even happen how am I supposed to even being to ponder how to take them down.
"Second thoughts?" Kayla asked and I bit my bottom lip as I saw the large castle like structure that was North Harbor Academy.
"What about school today or the plan?" I asked jokingly but, honestly they both didn't sound too great at the moment.
Kayla laughed.
"I guess both. But mainly the plan. I mean we really don't have an option when it comes to school."
"I just don't even know if it'll work and I never like the first day of school." I admitted and Kayla nodded in agreement.
"Does anybody? Seriously, it's signaling that summer's over. And about the plan. Just try your best. After all it's for Lucas." Kayla said casually and I looked over at her and she pointed a head of us.
"Park there!" She commanded as we both noticed as open spot near the entrance of the school.
I veered my car forward but, I was instantly cut off by a large black Range Rover that came so close to my car that it almost took off my passenger side mirror.
"What the hell?!" I shreiking slamming my hand down on my horn and causing Kayla to cover her ears in surprise.
I starred down the black Range Rover ready to jump out of my car and go crazy on him. I mean he almost hurt my car!
"Um Hayley." Kayla nudged me and I looked away from the Range Rover to see half the students standing outside their cars looking at us. Probably wondering who the people were in the car that almost got in a wreck.
