"ISN'T THAT Guinevere?" Miya asked when she and Alucard heard the loud explosion coming from the north tower.
She saw the lady leaning out from the rooftop, waving her hand at the demon hunters who almost got hit by the boulders destroyed by the magic wave she sent.
Alucard sighed hopelessly. "That girl's just burning with too much passion lately." He said like he had already given up with Guinevere.
Miya was amused to see the demon hunter looking problematic with a stubborn girl. It wasn't too long ago when it was Miya who was being problematic with a stubborn lover who just seemed to not run out of energy and motivation.
"Isn't she over exhausting herself?"
Seeing Alucard's anxious expression, she was pleased. Somehow, over the past few months since they broke up, Alucard had grown matured.
And she had a hunch that the young lady in that tower and the young man below who looked up at Guinevere in an angry stance had a part for that maturity.
"She is. But there, Gusion will take care of it." He answered as he saw the young man stride inside in a quick pace.
Miya frowned as she looked at Alucard. "What makes you so sure he isn't just going back to Lady Lesley?"
"Because those two couldn't leave each other alone. No matter how much they bicker." Certainty was ringing in his voice, enough to convince Miya.
Remembering how they searched anxiously for those two back at the forest when they suddenly disappeared for over half an hour, she knew Alucard was right.
They were pretty close, Miya could see that.
So she followed Alucard as she headed towards the ruined fence of the castle.
"Don't you think those two have something going on?" She asked out of curiosity.
"Like what?" Alucard asked.
"Like, you know, feelings...?"
Alucard glanced at her before staring ahead, thinking. "There were a couple times Gusion went angry of Guinevere getting herself injured. More than a couple of times did they risk their own lives just to save the other, too." He shrugged. "But maybe it's just comradeship developed from fighting side by side several times. I can confirm that because Granger annoys me so much but I would jump in the way of a bullet just to save him. It came from years of having each other's back."
Miya glared at him incredulously. "How could you contradict that situation by an example of Granger and you?"
Alucard's brows arched as he looked at Miya. "Isn't it just the same?"
"It would be if you admit one of you likes men." She marched ahead, Alucard hastening his strides to catch up with her.
"That's awful!"
"That's my point! Your example is awful. I can't believe I thought you'd matured."
They came through the woods behind the fence of Castle Grandrock, making sure no demon forces were setting camp under their nose to launch a surprise attack when they lower their guards.
"Now we're back at that?" Alucard asked behind her. "Until when will you keep insisting that I'm childish?"
"Until you stop being a dumbass, Alucard." She walked through fallen leaves of the forest floor, hearing twigs snap in their steps.
"Why do you sound like you weren't just upset about my example?"
"Because I'm not!" She snapped as she spun around and Alucard almost bumped against her.
