"You're still awake?" Gusion asked GUINEVERE.
After the commotion of Alucard and Miya, everyone in the castle went gloomy and serious again, leaving Guinevere alone in the library researching for hopes of recovering Rafaela.
She lost track of time and left the library at midnight. It was when she met Gusion along the corridors.
"Yes. I lost track of time."
He scoffed. "The way you lost yourself at what you set your mind into really amazes me."
"How about you? Where are you going at this dead of night?"
"At the top tower." He answered, his eyes darting scanning her form.
She couldn't blame him though. He was probably finding a little cleaner than how he usually had seen her.
For the nth time, her favorite dress was close to giving up and she ended up changing into the dress Odette gave her.
It was comfortable for her with the same turtle neck as her favorite one, but with puffed sleeves that kept her shoulders from getting cold.
She was still getting used to her arms being exposed though, because the gloves it came along with only covered her hand.
"You should come with me."
She frowned. "Why would I?"
"No questions. Just follow me."
He left for the stairs before she could protest, leaving her no choice but to follow.
"This better be worth my energy. It's running low right after I used that locator spell I used earlier."
He looked at her over his shoulder and waited until she came walking next to him. "Then come here."
"Wha—Gusion! What are you doing!" She exclaimed as he suddenly yanked her in his arms and she instinctively held on to his shoulders.
He was too tall that she felt like she was floating too far from the floor.
"Saving you the trouble of walking." He explained obliviously. His face was too close but she was afraid she might make the atmosphere tense if she tried leaning away.
"Put me—DOOWN!" She shrieked as Gusion blinked through the corridors and up the few flights of stairs that had became blurry in sight because of his speed.
She yelped when he suddenly came into a halt and he finally put her down.
"How dare you do that without permission!" She snapped.
"I know how draining it is to cast spells, Guinevere." He explained and headed towards a part of the room they were in.
They were in a place filled with a variety of herbs and plants, all four walls and the dome up above was made of glass, allowing the silver hues of the moonlight shower its petals and flowers all around them.
She followed him, only to bump her face against his back when he suddenly came into a stop.
"Ow! Paxley, why aren't you—?" She stopped complaining when she came next to him and saw that he was staring wide-eyed at a particular shrub right in the middle of the greenhouse.
The shrub had pointed, knife-like green leaves that seemed different than the others around it. What helped Guinevere distinguish was the fact that it was the only shrub that had a strange gardenia flower that was literally glowing with moonlight.
"It's stolen."
"What is?" She asked, puzzled.
"The flowers. The Moonlight Gardenia. It's stolen." His tone was serious and urgent as he headed towards the door.
