Gusion was getting irritated with Alice's stunning spells. It always cut him off from doing his attacks and he could feel his energy draining.

He knew Granger was feeling the same as he fired his weapon and tried dodging the Abyssal Queen's attacks.

But she wasn't called the Abyssal Queen for no reason. And Gusion was starting to lose hope as he watched Alice fight them laughing as if they were too easy for her.

He couldn't accept it. All those years of training felt worthless against her.

"Give it up, boy." Alice yelled as she dodged Granger's bullets, a few of it getting absorbed by her wings.

"Damn! What are those wings made of?!" Granger complained as he retreated back to Gusion's direction.

"Whatever it is, I want one." Gusion answered, astonished at the thing.

"You want wings? Wouldn't look good on you, man."

Gusion casted a look at Granger. "I meant as a vest."

"Oh." Granger muttered.

"Fools!" Alice yelled and fired her blood orb towards them again.

They had fought long enough against her to know better. Both of them dove into opposite directions before the blood orb could explode near them.

"Let's see if you could still make jokes when this castle crumbles!"

"Not happening." Granger exclaimed.

Alice scoffed. "You think you could stop us? Just because you'd been to Necrokeep and saved the girl you loved?"

Instantly, Granger's expression turned serious.

Gusion noticed how he always turned dark whenever the subject was about Rafaela and he grew worried.

Alice seemed to know Granger's weakness and could use it against him.

"Keep Rafaela out of this." Granger snarled.

"Where is she? Still healing?" Alice continued, pleased by its effect on Granger. "It's a shame the Land would already be bathed in darkness when she fully recovers."

"I can keep it bright for her."

Alice laughed sinisterly. "You poor, naive boys. You really think you could stop an invasion that took seventeen years of planning?"

"Evil never triumphs long." Gusion answered. He hated how Alice sounded so certain they were already winning.

He had to convince himself they still had a chance. Even though the palace knights around him seemed to be really losing against the number of abyssal creatures there were.

Alice turned her blood red eyes on him, and she smirked. "You tell that to yourself once you'll see your little girlfriend changing."

Gusion frowned and realized she was talking about Guinevere.
