chapter 7

caroline and jj pulled away as soon as they heard john bs voice
"what the hell is going on?" kie asked running up to the three with pope right behind her.
jj was quite so caroline decided to speak up.
"look guys. you all know that jj and i have a great friendship but last night, something happened that made us realize that-that we wanted-no-needed something more. we needed to be more than friends. and um we kissed and we are together now." caroline stated with the rest of the group silent.
"what about the rule?" pope said rolling his eyes.
"what about it? we are 16 almost 17 pope! god damn. people are going to get feelings, we aren't little kids anymore guys." caroline said raising her voice getting annoyed that the group didn't accept them.
"what are you gonna do? kick us out of the group?" jj said joking.
"yea, maybe." pope hissed.
"pope" kiara said quietly, putting a hand on his shoulder. he quickly got out of her embrace and said "no. no! this can't happen we have a rule. either break up or leave." pope said.
"pope that's not gonna happen man." john b said.
"why? i didn't realize every single decision revolved around jj and line." he said sounding hurt.
"pope you can't make them break up." kie said in a soft voice.
"nah, nah. fuck this. fuck pogues. fuck the rule. fuck you!" he said pointing at caroline and then he turned to jj and put his finger in his face and took a step closer. "and especially, fuck you." pope said. he turned around and started walking back up to the house to grab his things and leave.
"love you too." caroline shouted at him. he didn't even turn back around and just flipped her off.
"whats his problem?" kie said turning to john b.
"girl issues i guess" john b answered.
"well, um, that's a little awkward." jj finally said.
"well um if it makes you feel any better, i am totally fine with you guys as a couple." john b said.
"yea, me too." kie added.

the group was sitting down at the dock when jj said "look guys, i got to head to work, i can't be late again. but let me know what's happening later tonight." he said getting up and kissing the top of caroline's head.
"bye." they all said. the group sat there quietly for another 10 minutes when then caroline's phone started ringing. it was rafe.

what's up
so um like i texted you but you never answered and i just wanted to make sure you were ok
oh sorry, i didn't see it
no-no it's ok. but like stop by place when you can. i need to talk to you in person
ok. i'll be there in like 30 minutes

caroline hung up the phone to find kie and JB staring at her.
"what's that all about?" john b questioned.
"not sure."
"does jj know?"
"not unless he went through my phone." she joked. she got up and put her clothes back on and started tying her shoes.
"wait you're actually going?" kie asked surprised.
"um yea." caroline said. "want to come?"
"go to a kooks house? no thanks." john b said.
"ya um i'm good." kie also stated.
"alright. see you guys later tonight" caroline said walked back up the dock to drive to rafes house.

as she shut the door to the jeep she plugged her phone in so she could listen to music. the first song that came on was UCLA. it is caroline's favorite song because it described exactly what she wanted. the roof of her jeep was off so she had the wind blowing though her hair and music loud as she drove through town. as she reached figure eight she drove by houses that were huge but then she got to the biggest house, the cameron's. she parked her jeep in front of their house and got out to go knock on the door. after a few seconds, Rose answered the door.

"oh hi caroline!" she said happily.
"hey mrs. cameron " she put on a fake smile.  "rafe invited me over."
"oh ok. he's in his room. second floor and the third door on the left."
"ok thank you!" caroline walked into the house and began stepping up the stairs. when she reached the second floor she headed to his room. she knocked but he didn't answer so she just opened the door. he was sitting on his bed with his back facing the door and had headphones on. she walked over to him and saw his phone his hand and was watching something. she jumped back when she saw what it was. rafe cameron was watching porn.
"oh my god! rafe! you're disgusting!" she laughed.
he basically threwhis phone and turned around to face her.
"o-oh my god. i'm so so so sorry caroline. oh my god. i'm so sorry. that's so embarrassing. i-i i'm so sorry!" he said his face turning a dark shade of red.
she just laughed at him. "it's ok" she giggled.
he put his face in his hands like he was embarrassed.
"why did you want me to come over?" she asked. he got up and shut the door.
"we need to talk." he said
"about what?"
"us."
caroline didn't know what to say. "what do you mean us?" she asked.
"look, i know you have a thing for me and i have a thing for you. so i figured i should just ask you to be my girlfriend." caroline was silent. she was stunned.
"i-i"
"i knew it! you love me!" he said grabbing caroline ruffly and kissing her. it wasn't anything like when she kissed jj. there were no sparks. she didn't feel anything other then disgusted. his lips were soft but rough. he forced his tongue in her mouth and began to grab her in places she didn't like. she pushed away from him and he fell back.
"s-stop." she said shaking her head, eyes watering.
"what?" he asked. caroline just shook her head and ran out of his room. she ran out the front door while he chased her. she got into her car and drove away. what the hell just happened.
