Anxiety

noah and caleb sat in caleb's apartment after filming that day. lorelei had gone to sadie's and noah didn't have anyone to talk to. well, besides his mom.

"caleb?" noah said suddenly. they had been silently watching Harry Potter And The Sorcerer's Stone for about an hour.

"yeah?" caleb answered, but kept his eyes on the screen.

"could you give me some advice?" noah asked, looking over at caleb nervously. caleb nodded and paused the movie. advice was something that caleb was amazing at giving.

"what do you need, noah?" caleb responded. noah rarely asked for advice so this was all a surprise to caleb.

"well, say i like this girl and-" noah started, but was very quickly interrupted.

"if you're asking if i think you should ask out lorelei, then yes." caleb interrupted. noah was in complete shock. how did caleb know what he was about to ask? silence fell upon the room as caleb saw the look on noah's face, telling caleb he was right.

"i was planning on it, i just don't know how." noah finally said.

"i have an idea." caleb smirked before grabbing his phone and typing.

"oh, no."

"finally!" sadie smiled with relief.

"what?" lorelei laughed at the random statement.

"oh, uh, nothing." sadie smiled even wider, hiding her phone. halloweentown was playing softly in the background as sadie and lorelei sat on their phones. this was a regular occurrence for them, especially after set.

"what are we doing for halloween? it's tomorrow and none of us have even mentioned it!" lorelei smiled. halloween was probably her favorite holiday. it was a close cut with christmas, but halloween was definitely her favorite.

"let me text noah and caleb and maybe we can go get pajamas at walmart or something." sadie rambled. she talked super fast as if she was planning it before she had even said it. before lorelei could say anything else, sadie was typing and sending the message to the boys.

"we need snacks, too, if we're going to hang out. plus, it's halloween." lorelei added. sadie looked up before typing again.

"ok! they said they'd meet us in the lobby." sadie smiled. lorelei smiled back before the two got up to put on their shoes. as they walked out of sadies bedroom, they were met with millie who gave them a nasty look before  continuing down the hallway. thank god they were going in separate directions.

"speak of the devil." caleb laughed as he locked his apartment and sadie closed the door to hers.

"so you were talking about us?" lorelei smirked at noah. the two of them practically flirted with each other every chance they had, but no one had made a move.

"always." noah smirked back.

"let's go losers!" sadie rolled her eyes with a smile before heading towards the elevator, caleb following behind her.

"yeah, right." lorelei responded to noah's statement as they followed sadie and caleb. "liar."

"i am not." noah mumbled.

"what was that?" lorelei asked with a small smile that always drove noah crazy. noah's face immediately turned red and his smile widened.

"nothing!"

"ok, so, caleb and i will go get snacks and you two can go get halloween pjs." sadie smiled, grabbing a cart.

"does it matter which ones?" noah asked.

"you should get matching for me and sades and matching for you two." caleb suggested.

"ok, sure." noah smiled as their friends walked away. lorelei smiled over at him as they walked to the halloween section. there wasn't a huge selection left, so they headed over to the pj's to check there.

"oh, cool. they're 30% off." lorelei smiled.

"lorelei!" noah said excitedly. "look at the ghost ones!" lorelei laughed at how excited noah was getting over them. it was cute of him.

"ok, now we have to get those." lorelei laughed. "oh! we could get the pumpkin ones for sadie and caleb."

"absolutely!" noah smiled, grabbing all of their sizes. they discussed what size they were in the car to make it less difficult.

noah draped two sets on his arm while lorelei draped the other two on her arm. they walked around trying to find sadie and caleb for ten minutes before actually finding them. the four friends reunited in the candy aisle where sadie and caleb were grabbing everyone's favorite candy.

"we got them!" lorelei smiled as she walked, with noah, towards their friends. the two laid all of the pajamas in the cart.

"did you-" caleb started, but noah covered his mouth before he could finish his sentence.

"hey lore? can you and noah go get us blankets? we don't have many in our apartments as it is and we could get halloween ones." sadie asked as she decided which box of brownies to get. lorelei and noah nodded before walking off to find the blankets.

"did you think they were acting weird? like for the past two hours?" lorelei asked noah as they turned down an aisle.

"i- umm- no?" noah stuttered.

"what the hell? you're doing it too!" lorelei smiled. "spill. i know you're hiding something."

"nothing!" noah defended with a smile.

"liar!" lorelei teased.

"fine! i am hiding something. i'm just too scared to say it." noah tried to hide his growing smile and the pink tint on his cheeks. the two of them were now in the dog food aisle trying to figure out what the other was thinking.

"noah just tell me." lorelei smiled softly as she held both of noah's hands.

"i.... can't. not here." noah responded.

"well, why not?" she shot back, their faces getting closer by the second.

"what if someone hears me?" he almost whispered.

"don't worry about it." she smiled at him.

"rory."

"noah?"

"i can't do it."

"just say it."

"i like you.. a lot."

"i like you too.. a lot."
