it was finally halloween night. precisely an hour before sadie and caleb were supposed to show up. lorelei was preparing snacks while noah set up the living room. they were all convinced this would be the best halloween ever.

"hey alexa! play halloween music!" lorelei said to their alexa sitting on top of the fridge.

"now playing 'my halloween mix' on amazon music." alexa responded before the ghostbusters theme song started blasting through the house.

"THIS IS GREAT!" noah yelled from the living room. lorelei could practically hear the smile on his face. she laughed before frosting the last cupcake in the batch.

suddenly, lorelei's phone dinged from beside her. sadie had messaged her.

"noah! sadie and caleb are sick!" lorelei frowned as she walked into the living room.

"what the heck?" noah groaned. noah looked like a hot mess, but the living room looked amazing. he had set up streamers across the ceiling and black, orange, purple, and green balloons were scattered everywhere. there was caution tape on the bathroom and apartment door. he had even lit halloween scented candles to set the vibe.

"wow, noah. this is amazing." lorelei smiled. she was so impressed with everything that she almost didn't notice noah coming closer to her.

"ugh, i worked so hard and for nothing." he groaned, once more, before pulling lorelei into a hug.

"ew, you're so sweaty." lorelei laughed at him and a grin immediately spread on his face.

"i'm sure you appreciate it." noah shot back with a cocky grin planted on his lips.

"it'll be ok. we can enjoy your immaculate decorating skills to ourselves. it looks amazing!" lorelei smiled before running her fingers through his damp hair.

"ok, sounds great." noah smiled back, placing his hand on her cheek and rubbing it with his thumb.

"you're so sweaty." lorelei couldn't help but laugh at how sweaty noah was. he looked like he had been out in 90 degree weather all day.

"i'm gonna go shower now." noah laughed back, removing his hand from her cheek. lorelei nodded with a smile as noah walked off.
