Anxiety

lorelei couldn't let go of the fact she kissed noah yesterday. not only that, but she woke up snuggled against noah.

the tv was quietly playing Gravity Falls and noah was still asleep. lorelei carefully scooted closer into him and watched the tv. soon after, noah woke up, too. he removed the arm that was draped over lorelei to rub his eyes.

"good morning." lorelei smiled as she turned around to face noah. noah smiled back sleepily before gently kissing lorelei's forehead.

"good morning." noah said before yawning

"how-" lorelei started, before being interrupted by a knock on the door. lorelei untangled from noah before walking to the door.

"i thought you died!" sadie quickly pulled lorelei into a hug and sighed in relief.

"what are you talking about?" lorelei asked, pulling out of the hug and holding sadie's shoulders.

"you haven't answered any of my texts or calls in the past 12 hours, lorelei! neither has noah!" the red head said, pulling out of lorelei's grip and walking in to sit on the couch. "did you sleep without a blanket lore?"

"oh, uh, no?" lorelei stuttered, but answered as more of a question. sadie looked between the two of them to see both noah and lorelei with tinted cheeks.

"ok, spill. you're obviously not telling me something." sadie smirked, switching between looking at lorelei and looking at noah.

"nothing!" lorelei smiled, her face turning as red as a tomato. sadie gave her the 'you're a huge liar' look making lorelei roll her eyes. "i promise we didn't do anything, but if we did i would tell you later."

"ugh, whatever." sadie rolled her eyes before looking at noah on the other side of the couch. "tell me what you guys did."

"it's nothing important." noah responded, glancing over at lorelei every once in a while.

"so you did do something!" sadie squealed. "you have to tell me. right now."

"like noah said, it's nothing important." the brunette smirked at noah as she repeated his statement.

"what the fuck! just tell me already!" sadie groaned, leaning her head back on the couch in annoyance. lorelei stayed silent as she sat on the couch and leaned up against noah.

"my mouth is shut." lorelei smiled. at this point, the two were trying to get on sadie's nerves.

"lorelei. i love you, but you're really getting on my nerves." sadie said, causing noah to laugh. "don't laugh! the same goes for you, too!"

"i said i would tell you later!" lorelei defended.

"yeah, ok." sadie rolled her eyes. "i'm leaving. come over in a little bit and tell me everything. no exceptions."

"bye sades! i love you!" lorelei raised her voice since sadie had already got up and walked to the door.

"i'm sure you do!" sadie yelled back before closing the door. lorelei could practically hear the smile in sadie's voice.

"good morning you two." karine smiled, walking out of her room.

"good morning, mrs. schnapp." lorelei smiled back.

"lorelei, i know i've said this a million times before, but please call me karine." the lady explained, sitting where sadie had once sat.

"i'm sorry. i'm just getting used to it still." lorelei apologized.

"no need to apologize." karine shot back. she was dressed in jeans and a maroon t-shirt, so lorelei assumed she was going somewhere. "how did you sleep?"

"good." the two responded in unison. lorelei looked up at noah and smiled as noah looked down at her.

"i'm sorry i got home so late. i had to work late. you were both out like a light when i got here." karine chuckled.

"no, you're fine. my job back home overworked me a lot, too." lorelei smiled.

"where are you from? i never have time to ask." karine smiled back at her.

"baltimore, maryland." lorelei responded. karine nodded before standing back up.

"i have to go grocery shopping. do you two need anything?" the woman asked, putting on tennis shoes.

"nope." lorelei said before looking at noah.

"i'm good, thanks mom." noah smiled at his mother as she grabbed her purse.

"ok. i won't be long." karine smiled.

"stay safe." noah said before she shut the door.

"i love your mom." lorelei smiled at the brunette boy behind her.

"she loves you, too. she told me that in the first week she met you." noah smiled back before kissing lorelei's lips.

"hey. don't make that an often occurrence. we're not even dating." lorelei joked.

"oh, yeah?" noah smirked. "well, what if we were dating?"

"then you could kiss me anytime you wanted." lorelei smirked back.

"then date me." noah's smirk grew into a smile as lorelei turned to face him.

"i don't know. i'd have to see if i can fit that into my schedule." lorelei joked, once again.

"what did the boss say?" noah said after a moment of silence.

"she said yes."
