How about if there is an epidemic going around in a small city or town, were the guyis of the town or city get a fever or bitten by a bug. When this happens to them or one of them. They loose consciousness, and grow into a giant., when they come too, being a giant, some of them turn, it changes there personaility. Makes them mean. Some of them, it doesn't some of the giants fight the mean personaility. The towns people get inside a compound that has an electric force field over it. . When the guy gets the fever, he is put outside the force field, so they don't cause chaos, or harm. Some of the giants try to fight against this change in there body and personaility. One of the giants, he misses his friends or family on the inside of the electric force field., some of the people inside try to communicate with him on the other side of the electric force field. The giant could find a way to get inside the force field to show them that he wants to help to find a cure, that he won't hurt them. Maybe one of the tiny people could put the force field down, so the giant could come in, to show the others that he doesn't mean any harm. They all run inside. The giant tries to get them to come out, to show them that he is gentle.
