How about this could be told from a handmaiden's POV, she lives alone in a cottage, in the 1700s with her little girl, she told by courier, that she is assigned to be a handmaiden to a giant that has been captured, he is put in a huge jail cell while he is unconscious. She is assigned to bring him wheel barrels or barrels of food. He tries to engage her in conversations, but she runs off, the huge door to his jail is open so, he can get the food. It terrifies her being his handmaiden, but it is her lot in life and she has accepted it, though she does not think much about herself, he knows there is something more to her than meets the eye, he notices how skinny she is, gives her some of his food. maybe he could notice she is limping, but trying to hide it, he could gently scoop her up, he could have some medicine in his pocket because he is a doctor in his world, they could become friends. He could have a deep rumble of a voice, maybe her Daughter could be playing with her doll, accidentally by the jail. The giant could return it to her, or maybe her Daughter could fall in a river, be drowning and the giant could rescue her, this could be a slow-burning friendship story.
