How about if August Walker on his time off, is a sea shell collector, he goes scuba diving down deep to collect shells, The tiny creatures of the sea know him as the kraken because in the scubas gear he looks like a giant monster to them, he is known from coming to collect shells. He picks up a big Concho Shell carries it up with him to the surface to his home, unbeknownst to him, there is a tiny mermaid living in the shell that he has taken with her in it. He does not know she is living in the shell. He starts cleaning up the shell. When he hears a tiny voice in the shell, because he is a CIA agent, he has very keen hearing. he thinks he is hearing things, so he brushes it off, at night he goes to check on the shell, He sees a tiny lady moving about, on the table. she can also turn into a tiny mermaid and turn into a tiny human with legs, she is a new rare species of creature. She sees him, she runs back into the shell. August/The Kraken peers inside with his eye, tries to get her to come out. it is slow going, maybe when she comes out, she could accidentally turn into a mermaid in front of him, if she is without water for too long. Maybe August could get a bowl of water to put her in it, maybe she could hurt herself as she is running which transfers to her mermaid fin when she transforms. She could call him the Kraken to his face, because that is all she knows of him is his fearsome name, that her people of told her scary story over the years. August is torn, should he take her back or see if she wants to live with him. If anybody would like to write this please feel free.
