This story idea could take place in the past or the present. How about if a girl is captured by some people ( I haven't come up with an idea of who it would be yet) :> I am not sure why they captured her yet. For Punishment she gets strung up inside a cage and suspended from the ceiling. Inside a giant Jail Cell. Inside the Jail Cell lives a Giant who was also captured for something, that is unfair. The people put her in there thinking that the Giant is going to eat her. But he doesn't. He takes the cage down from the ceiling with her in it and holds the cage in his hands, and tries to befriend her. This totally shocks the girl, that the giant can talk and is kind. She learns that looks can be deceiving. The giant slowly gets her to trust him, he tries to get her to come out of the cage, but she won't, because she is afraid of him, he tries to give her food, even though he hasn't eaten in days because the people are trying to starve him. He takes the top of the cage off, to free her. The girl decides to help free him, still neverous about what he might do when he is free. Anybody who wants to write this, please feel free to.
