note: mentions of (you know) it's not detailed or anything, just the idea is there :") also, in this one shot, ricky and nini haven't met yet until their 20s

after seven years, nini was finally back in salt lake, her hometown. she was there since one of her best friends, ashlyn was finally getting married with some guy named big red. (she still wasn't sure if that was his real name) in addition to that, she was her maid of honor so she flew in two weeks early to help her with last minute wedding preparations.

after graduating high school at east high, she went all the way to new haven, connecticut to attend the yale school of drama. as soon as she graduated, she immediately put up a small acting school and now, she's got over 100 students attending.

as soon as she got off the plane and gathered her bags from baggage claim, she ran towards the exit and was greeted by ashlyn. "nini, over here!"

"ashlyn! it's so good to see you!" nini exclaims, wrapping her in a big hug.

"i know, i haven't seen you since we had that girls night with kourt and gina like 2 years ago! i'm so glad you accepted to be my maid of honor." ashlyn replies.

"no problem, ash! you're like one of my best friends, i'll do anything for you. by the way, when are kourt and gina coming in?" nini asks.

"o, they will be here by next week. since kourtney has a fashion show this week and gina has to attend to her students at her dance center, it was pretty hard for them to clear their schedule."

the two girls went to the car, trying to catch up. they were giggling and laughing especially when ashlyn was telling her story about how big red proposed to him.

when they got to ashlyn's house, they were greeted by big red and a familiar curly haired boy.

big red approaches ashlyn, giving her a kiss on the cheek. "hi baby, how was the drive? oh this must be nini. hi i'm big red, ashlyn's fiancé."

"hi. it's good to meet you. ashlyn has told me so much about you."

big red smiles. "oh, and this is ricky, my college best friend and my best man."

nini's eyes were in shock and was starstruck. "holy shit, you're ricky bowen?! the famous singer! omg i love your songs!!"

ricky just smiles and looks at her again. "haha thanks. you must be nini i guess."

they both shook hands and smiled again at each other. they were interrupted when the couple approached them.

"thank you guys for coming in early to help us. you two might spend a lot of time together." big red says.

the two weeks leading up to the wedding were stressful. despite that, ricky and nini were getting closer and were together all the time. they got to know each other since ricky would be talking about his career, what he liked and hated about it, while nini would share some stories about her acting school. big red and ashlyn noticed and they couldn't help but get all giddy. they even made a bet to see whether or not after the wedding, they would go on a date.

after a week, big red and ashlyn decided they didn't want to have bachelor and bachelorette parties and instead have one big party together with their friends who were coming in town. they all had fun, laughing, sharing stories and catching up and made a fool out of themselves when they were dancing. carlos, one of big red's friends suggested to play truth or dare.
