Review: I love fairy tales, so the title and the summary hooked me at first sight. I wanted to read more about a delusional Prince Charming and a demented Cinderella. The Fairy Tale Syndrome engaged me from the first line with "the blaring sound of police sirens." The reader soon learns that the heroine, Ruby, is suspected of murdering her professor, and the hero, Josh, is determined to exonerate her. The story, then, flashes back to when Josh first meets Ruby and her doppelganger, Jennifer. The plot is filled with hilarious chaos and well developed characters. My favorite aspect of this book is the kick butt vigilante heroine who saves the guy and gets revenge on the mean girls. I want to be Ruby. The story is just as creative and well written as the others and would have won, but for the too dark cover, which matches its subplot of mystery thriller more than teen fiction.

Review: I love Bella, the main character in this story. She has big goals- ace school, defeat the mean girl, spy on her crush, and be a Teen Star - that she actively pursues. Bella doesn't wander around letting life happen to her like most of the teens in the stories I've read. She chases after her dreams despite the risks and the consequences. While I personally have no interest in fashion or makeup, I can still relate to her ambitions and her mistakes. In the beginning of Bella Fashionella, she misses a close friend who moved away so much that her grief messes up her friendship with her best friend, Viola, and her connection with her fans on her blog Fashionella. I can't wait to read more of this story to see how she repairs her old relationships and makes new ones, while a cyberbully lurks in the background waiting to destroy her.

Review: The story begins with a funny, fast-paced, action-packed prologue from which the plot snowballs into a rolling-on-the-floor-laughing avalanche of adventure. The opening scene involves bad boy Manny running from the campus cop. He drops his wallet which our heroes, Rashaad and Hakeem, find while spying on their crushes. They have to decide to keep it or give it back. Either way Manny may kill them. I enjoyed the witty dialogue between the two friends. My favorite aspect of Nice Guys was how the author tied all the plot points so expertly together. All I can say without spoiling the fun is to be on the lookout for the flying sigils. I laughed for two minutes straight. I love books that make me laugh.
