"Are you feeling better now?" Liam asked when he saw me coming down the stairs. He was about to leave. Good, for me.

"Yeah but I'm gonna stay home just in case." I smiled sweetly at him. Obviously he didn't notice my extra sugary smile. I didn't know what was up with him ever since the ball, but I was going to find out.

Unlike Theo, I knew no amount of pestering, fighting, or silent treatments were going to make either of the two monkeys spill anything. However, just because they weren't going to spill anything didn't have to mean that I couldn't find out.

"Okay. I'm going to go now," he said, pulling open the front door.

"Aren't you going to take back Tristan's coat?" I asked him.

I knew that was a lie too. That coat was nowhere near close to fitting Tristan or being afforded by him. Also, the pink that coloured up Liam's cheeks at the question was proof enough.

"Uh . . . I . . . I haven't gotten it washed yet. It would be rude to return it like that. Also he said he wasn't going to show up today so no point in taking it with me."

Excuses. Excuses. Excuses.

For god's sake, I was his twin sister, one would think he'd know better than to lie to me!

I nodded with the same sweet smile plastered on my face. "Well then, you better rush." I shooed him out the door, hoping he would actually leave sooner rather than later. I needed as much time as I could get.

He nodded and left, closing the door behind him.

Wow, I noted. No usual, 'Don't make any trouble' or 'Don't do anything stupid'  remarks.

He must've been pretty beat up to not notice my fishy smile. Liam was habitual of being suspicious of me like . . . ninety eight percent of times. Something odd was definitely going on.

As soon as the door closed, I picked up my phone to call Juliana. Yes. Cam's precious-runaway-doll, Juliana. It was time to get on with the plan.

"Hello?" She picked up after three rings.

"Hey Jules, it's Iv here," I greeted her, itching to get to the point.

"Oh . . . oh hey Ivory, listen I know I left town so abruptly, I'm so sorry I didn't tell you. It's just that . . . something came up."

"You know it's fine, sweetie. Listen, I was wondering if we could meet up?" I crossed my fingers hoping she'd agree.

"Sure . . . you could visit me. I can text you the add—"

"No, no, no, no." I pinched the bridge of my nose. "I mean, I actually just got better after being sick and I don't think it'd be a great idea for me to jump out of town already."
