Dinner was a blast.

Charlie met Theo's sister, who was in 8th grade. She had bright brown hair and green eyes, matching her mother. She introduced herself as, "Elle Josephine Dyer, the better sibling." which made Charlie laugh.

Charlie thought the dinner was the best thing ever. It was chicken parmesan with pasta that was over the moon. It made Charlie think of Aiden.

After dinner was done, Charlie insisted on helping Daisy with the dishes. Daisy insisted that she was okay, but Charlie helped anyway.

"Theo said your dad is a doctor," Daisy hummed.

"Yep," Charlie nodded. "Cardiovascular surgeon and doctor."

"I'm a lawyer, and Noah owns a business in the city," Daisy said. "It's quite lovely. Do you have any idea of what you would like to do in the future?"

"No," Charlie shook her head. "It's hard because my family and parents and adopted family already have so much. I can't choose,"

"If I may ask, what does your biological family do?" Daisy asked, silently hoping she wasn't prying.

"My biological dad is a real estate agent, and my biological mom didn't do a ton. My step-mom, my dad's wife, she works at a fashion place in the city," Charlie explained. "My uncles are all doctors. My adopted dad's friends."

"Your family tree must be confusing, darling," Daisy humored.

"It is, trust me." Charlie laughed. "Calum is a trauma surgeon. He works on people with life-threatening injuries. Ashton is a pediatrician and an orthopedic surgeon. Michael is a neurosurgeon."

"Wow," Daisy laughs. "That's a lot of doctors."

"Sure is." Charlie nodded with a smile. "Do you enjoy being a lawyer?"

Daisy shrugged. "If I could do it all over again, I wouldn't choose that line of work. But it's not awful."

Charlie nodded. "What would you do differently?"

"I would travel the world." Daisy said. "Go to all the places I want. Study abroad. Everything."

Charlie let a warm smile on her face. "I've always wanted to study abroad."

"My advice, my dear," Daisy began. "Don't second guess something if you really want it. Because you'll grow up and find that doubting it was the worst thing you could've really done."

Charlie really thought about what Daisy said. As Theo brought her back up to his bedroom and put on his shoes for him to take her home, she really thought.

"How was home today?" Theo asked, pulling Charlie out from her thoughts.

She shrugged. "It was alright. I saw something I wish I didn't but It's fine, I guess."

Theo's eyebrows went together. "What did you see?"

"Don't make me say it, Theo." Charlie begged. Theo's face twisted into realization, his mouth making an 'O' shape before continuing to tie his shoes.

Charlie's fingers ran along the books in Theo's bookshelves and she noticed a book that Charlie had heard of. A book about poems – each one written so neatly and beautiful.

"Ready to go, love?" Theo asked.

Charlie tore her eyes away from the book and nodded. "Yes."
