Something To Talk About

"Communication. It's the first think we really learn in life. Funny thing is, once we grow up, learn our words, and really start talking, the harder it becomes to know what to say or how to ask for what we really need."

Third person:

"What do you need to make this marriage work?" The marriage counsellor asked Derek and Addison as they sat in a meeting.

"I need her to move to Seattle." Derek replied in a monotone voice as if it was so easy.

"That's just a..." Addison started but their councillor cut her off.

"Addison. What do you need?" The councillor asked.

"I need him to stop talking to Evangeline." Addison concluded and Derek scoffed.

"I work with her and she's my best friend." Derek started to expressed.

"You want me to pick up my entire practice and move here? Fine. I want you to give up your girlfriend." Addison replied and Derek chuckled.

"I did give up my girlfriend and I lost her as my best friend. You wanted me to take you back, I did. In Seattle." Derek explained and Addison rolled her eyes turning to the councillor in frustration.

"And once again it's all about what he wants." Addison complained.

"She's not listening to me, I am not gonna move back to manhattan, I am not the same person anymore." Derek started to explain and Addison through herself backwards softly into the chair.

"I know, you're a flannel-wearing, wood-chopping fisherman. I get it." Addison grumbled and Derek rolled his eyes.

"I won't talk to her if she behaves like this." Derek yelled. The councillor's timer went off and he sigHed.

"Sorry, guys. Times up. Good progress." The councillor said causing both the Shepherd's to glare at the councillor in anger and confusion as to how that was progress.

Normal view:

I walked past Meredith, Christina and Izzy and they grabbed my arm and dragging me with them.

"Hey, so, after rounds, we have something to show you." Christina said and I just kept my face still not making any nosies or expressions. I didn't want to.

"Evangeline, can you hear us?" Izzy asked and I turned my head to her softly.

"She's not deaf." Christina expressed.

"Well, she looks weird." Izzy mumbled.

"Well, Derek didn't pick her. She's gone mental." Meredith said and I glared at her.

"Evangeline, have you gone mental?" Izzy asked me. I snapped my head towards her.

"I have not gone mental." I expressed out loud.

"See? Ok, she's fine. We have something to show you. So, whatever any of you do, do not get assigned to Burkes service, and you say you're busy to assist. Let Burke do all the work." Christina said. We were about to continue walking when the elevator opened, and Addison and Derek walked in. I paused and watched them walk away. I glared at the back of their heads. Some interns started whispering about me when Christina grabbed my shoulders and pushed me into the elevator.

"Mrs. Kimberly Griswold. History of heart disease and multiple surgeries. In for a beating heart quadruple CABG." Christina started.

"Your late." Izzy said as Karev walked into the room.
