《 The Next Day 》

"Hey! Azuma! Wake up!" "Ow...Ow! Grim...! Get off! I'm awake! I'm awake!" I groan as I push Grim off my stomach. I groggily get up, rubbing my tired eyes then I felt a familiar chill down my spine...

"Heeheehee...seems like you lazed around for quite a bit." "Might as well become one of us...hehehehe!" The ghosts giggled.

"Ah! The ghosts are back again!" Grim exclaims. I grab a random object (a pillow this time) and go into a battle stance, "Grim! It's time for battle!!!"

Turns out using a pillow was the worst weapon of choice but we still managed to get them to leave us alone. "Hmph. We'll get rid of you eventually!" Grim huffs as the ghosts vanish. 'I swear these ghosts will keep pranking us...' I let out a tired yawn as I stretched. "Good morning, you two. Did you sleep well?" Headmaster asks as he enters the room. "Yeah, not until Grim woke me up" I replied bluntly. "Fungya!? Blame the ghosts for waking me up!" Grim retorted.

"Even though you got thrown here from another world, you're tough. Very good." Headmaster hums before clearing his throat "I came to speak to you about your work for today."

Grim and I turn to him in wonder. "Once you have freshened yourselves up, please meet me in the lounge." The Headmaster leaves, probably waiting for us in the lounge. "Get out!" I kicked Grim out of the room which made him whine. After fixing the bed (sloppily), I clip aside my bangs and wear a similar outfit I wore last night. A hoodie with a pair of leggings and sneakers. Before I left the room I just have this nagging feeling that this day is gonna be a long one...

"Today, you are to clean the campus. But the campus is quite large, cleaning it all without magic would be impossible. So I'd like you to clean the Main Street from the Main Gate to the Library. Understood? Please watch Grim closely so he doesn't cause a scene like yesterday." Headmaster stated.

"Yes, Headmaster..." I replied glaring at Grim as a warning. "I'm counting on you. I will give you permission to have lunch in the school cafeteria. Well then, work hard!" Headmaster leaves. "Tsk. There's no way I'm doing any cleaning. I wanna go to class and do a bunch of awesome spells! Like Bang! B-B-Boom!" Grim exclaims as he imitates sfx. "Well, if you're not cleaning, no more canned tuna for you." I stated bluntly as I take a bite out of my sandwich. "F-Fungya!? I'll clean! I'll clean!"

"Uwaaah~! Amazing! So this is the Main Street." Grim said as we looked around in awe. I notice the statues...they're seven disney villains. I haven't seen these characters in a long time. "I didn't get a good look last night but what's with these statues?" Grim asks.

"I have no idea...Wait- How do you not recognize them!?" I look at Grim in shock before I point to the Queen of Hearts' Statue. "This is the Queen of Hearts from Alice in Wonderland. She is known for having REALLY strict rules, like the roses must be painted red on a certain occasion, otherwise it's 'OFF WITH YOUR HEAD!!!'" I exclaim, imitating her famous line.

"It's cool! I like it. Nobody would listen to a queen that's kind-hearted, right?"

"Yeah! Alice in Wonderland is quite a popular story that has been adapted in various media...Especially anime! That's literally the only reason why I remember her so much-Ah!" I just realized someone else joined our conversation. "Wait...WHO ARE YOU!?" I look at the orange-haired guy that came out of nowhere.

"I'm Ace. A first year student. Nice to meet'cha." He said. "I'm Grim. A genius who'll become the greatest magician. This dimwit over here is-MPH!?" I cover Grim's mouth before he could say anything. "Please don't listen to him. My name's Azuma."

"Pweh! What did you do that for!?"
"You were gonna insult me somehow..."

"Azuma, huh...that's a weird sounding name." Ace mutters. 'Says the one who has a card suit for a name...' I thought as I continued cleaning. "Come to think of it, you're pretty weird..." "Eh?"

He leans closer to me, "Your eyes are literally two different colors and you look like a kid! Pfft- Where are your parents even!?". My face flushed red in anger, "You bitch!". "Aren't you guys the ones who went crazy in the entrance ceremony? The kiddo who doesn't have magic and the monster who barged in uninvited. Man~ It was so hard not to lose it during the ceremony!"

I grit my teeth and clenched my fists, 'This bitch...'

"What are you gonna do? Hit me? Ooh! I'm so sca~red!" Ace sneered. I kicked him in the nuts out of pure anger. "OW! Shit...I only called you out just to tease you but you guys were not what I was expecting. Doesn't change the fact that you guys are just lame handymen anyway." Ace chuckled.

"NYANIIII!?!?" Grim jumps in shock.

"Unlike you two, I have classes. Good luck with the cleaning~!" Ace casually gets up and takes his leave and I'm still pissed. "This guy...! I can't let him just say that! I'm pissed off! FUNGYAAAAA!!!!" Grim spews out his flames towards Ace. "Woah! Ack! That was dangerous...What the hell are you doing!?" Ace exclaims as he barely dodged Grim's flames.

"That's what you get for making fun of me! I'll light your fire-head ON FIRE!!!"

"Fire-head...? Heh, you got some guts tryin' to pick a fight with me. Same thing goes for you, I'll make sure you end up as a frizzy toy poodle!"

"Fungyaaaaa!!!" Grims starts spewing his flames again. "Oops! That was close! Take this!" Ace blocks his attack with his wind(!?). All I can do is watch...no point in trying to butt into a fight that might get me killed.

The students who were passing by then noticed the fight. "What's this? A fight?" A student says. "Nice~! Beat 'em up!" Another chants. "I'm starting to regret everything now...ACK!" I dodge a fireball "GRIM! WATCH WHERE YOU'RE AIMING!!!" I exclaim.

"As if those weak fire balls of yours are gonna hit!"

"What did you say!? Prepare yourself!"

As the two released their attacks simultaneously, without them noticing, the fire hits one of the statues. "AAAAAAAGH!!! Shit! The Queen of Hearts' Statue is charred!" Ace exclaimed in a panic. "It's because you changed the direction of the flames with your wind, ya know! Stay still and get fried!" Grim huffed. "As if there'll be anyone getting burnt after being said that!" Ace retorted. "Couldn't you have used WATER magic instead of wind magic!?" I stated.

"Heeeeey!! What's with all the ruckus!?" The 3 of us jump at the voice of the Headmaster. "He's gonna tie us up with the 'Whip of Love'! Run!!!" Despite Grim's warning the 3 of us get whipped. "Ack! First I get kicked in the nuts then I almost got burned and now this...!?" Ace muttered. 'You deserved it tho'

"Just earlier I said, "Don't cause any trouble" didn't I? And to burn a Great Seven statue to black-! It seems to me that you really want to be expelled." Headmaster stated. "W-Wait! Anything but that-!" Ace pleaded but the Headmaster ignored him and turned to me instead. "And you, Mr. Azuma, it doesn't seem like you're keeping an eye on Grim at all." He lets out a sigh, "Good Grief..."

He then turns to Ace, "You. Year and Name?". "Ace Trapolla...First Year." Ace replied. The Headmaster pauses for a moment, "Well then, Trappola, Grim, and Mr. Azuma... As punishment, I will declare that you 3 will have to clean 100 windows."

"100 windows!?"

"Nya!? But it was his fault for starting it!"

"Eeeh!? Me too!? I didn't do anything!"

"Of course! After school, meet up at the cafeteria. Understood?" The three of us nodded.

"I already hate it here..."

A/N: About Ace saying Azuma has two different colored eyes, no it's not heterochromia. The upper part of her iris is blue while the rest of it is pinkish-red. (It would be better if I had a drawing but I'm still redesigning her so like yeah...)

I guess the closest reference would be Shenhe's eyes.
