ʜᴇᴀᴅᴍᴀꜱᴛᴇʀ ᴄʜᴀɴɢᴇꜱ ᴛᴏ ᴀ ᴍᴏʀᴇ ꜱᴇʀɪᴏᴜꜱ ᴘᴏꜱɪᴛɪᴏɴ ʙᴇꜰᴏʀᴇ ᴄᴏɴᴛɪɴᴜɪɴɢ, "You all need to know about the berserk state Mr. Rosehearts fell into if you are to become magicians."
"Was it...Overblot?" ᴅᴇᴜᴄᴇ ᴀꜱᴋꜱ.
"Yes that is correct."
"I heard about it from my bro before but...seeing someone build up enough blot to become like that was something else." ꜱᴀɪᴅ ᴀᴄᴇ ɪɴ ꜱʟɪɢʜᴛʟʏ ɪɴ ꜱʜᴏᴄᴋ.
"I'm guessing it's similar to having a shadow..."
"What is blot anyway?" ɢʀɪᴍ ᴀꜱᴋꜱ, ᴄʀᴏꜱꜱɪɴɢ ʜɪꜱ ᴘᴀᴡꜱ ɪɴ ᴄᴜʀɪᴏꜱɪᴛʏ.
"Ah that's right. You two need some explanation as well. I shall fill you all in, for I am so kind!"
ᴡᴇ ʟᴏᴏᴋ ᴀᴛ ʜᴇᴀᴅᴍᴀꜱᴛᴇʀ ᴡɪᴛʜ ᴍɪxᴇᴅ ᴇxᴘʀᴇꜱꜱɪᴏɴꜱ.
ʜᴇ ᴛʜᴇɴ ᴄʟᴇᴀʀᴇᴅ ʜɪꜱ ᴛʜʀᴏᴀᴛ, "Blot is a type of waste created after one uses magic, in the same way a vehicle creates exhaust as it burns fuel to run. Spells burn magic to manifest and create blot at the same time...that should be easy enough to understand."
"So blot is the waste of magic...? Uhm, I only understood the first part."
"That is all right, you have answered correctly either way. Blot has been researched since the dawn of recorded history but, there are still many mysteries to unravel. One thing that is known for sure is that blot is a toxin and building up too much can cause great harm to the mind and body." ʜᴇ ꜱᴛᴀᴛᴇᴅ.
"Oh yeah, my grandma used to always say, "You'll build up too much blot so don't use magic willy-nilly." She went on and on about it." ᴀᴄᴇ ᴡᴀᴠᴇꜱ ʜɪꜱ ʜᴀɴᴅ ɪɴ ᴇxᴀɢɢᴇʀᴀᴛɪᴏɴ.
ɪ ᴘʟᴀᴄᴇ ᴀ ʜᴀɴᴅ ᴏɴ ᴍʏ ᴄʜɪɴ ᴀꜱ ɪ ꜱᴀʏ ᴍʏ ᴛʜᴏᴜɢʜᴛꜱ ᴀʟᴏᴜᴅ, "Like killing a shadow instead of taking it's treasure, it may break the owner's mind and kill them..."
"You've been talking about a shadow...Have you've encountered something like this, Azuma?" ᴅᴇᴜᴄᴇ ᴀꜱᴋꜱ.
"Not in real life. It's in a video game series from my world. They just seem similar to me." ɪ ʀᴇᴘʟʏ ᴀꜱ ɪ ꜱʜɪꜰᴛᴇᴅ ɪɴᴛᴏ ᴀ ᴍᴏʀᴇ ᴄᴏᴍꜰᴏʀᴛᴀʙʟᴇ ᴘᴏꜱɪᴛɪᴏɴ.
"So you already understand the general idea of overblot before coming here....Well, that will make things much easier. But, with great power comes great r̷e̸s̷p̷o̸n̵s̷i̷b̸i̷l̵i̴t̸y̷ risk. Not even the greatest magicians have an unlimited supply of magical energy." ʜᴇᴀᴅᴍᴀꜱᴛᴇʀ ꜱᴛᴀᴛᴇᴅ.
"So you're saying the more magic we use, the unhealthier it becomes!?" ɢʀɪᴍ ᴊᴜᴍᴘꜱ ᴏɴᴛᴏ ᴛʜᴇ ᴛᴀʙʟᴇ ɪɴ ꜱʜᴏᴄᴋ.
