~ The Novaks ~

"You know, we really didn't have to go here and waste our time just because a stupid plane got caught in a storm, right?"

"Gabe, Michael bought us these tickets and we are going to use them. At least pretend to be normal, alright?"

"But we can just-"

"Enough, Gabriel."

Gabriel huffed. "Cassie, you don't want to go to University, right?"

"Not entirely. But I got accepted and I am going to try to act like a human. Like any other human, I will try and get a human education. Besides, might be fascinating to see their side of history."

"Shut it," Anna repeated, stopping Gabe before he could go on complaining.

Castiel, Anna and Gabriel Novak all sat side by side. Gabe and Cas were going to be going to University in California. Anna was going with them to get a well paying job not far from the University.

The Novaks were a strange family that consisted of five kids and a single father. Lucifer and Michael were the other two brothers and they were the oldest. Chuck was their kind father, who really cared a lot.

Michael is 29. Lucifer is 27. Anna is 25. Both Cas and Gabriel are 23, Gabriel being sightly older.

Well, that's how old they say they are.

The Novaks have a secret. They are not at all human. And it would be a surprise to anyone who knew their secret that it was even a secret at all. The Novaks are angels, all sent down to the Earth to make sure life is moderately well.

Then there was the whole Chuck situation. To the Novak "kids", their "father's" profile was unknown. They all suspected that Chuck was some archangel who preferred to stay anonymous. But no one really knows for sure.

Except, one of the children knows who exactly Chuck is. Gabriel happens to be a very good liar.

Anna took out a pair of earbuds attached to a phone and turned on some music to listen to. Anna had to admit that some of the human technology was useful.  Castiel sat quietly, looking down at the ground as he pulled the sleeves of his beige trench coat further down his hands, almost anxiously. Gabe was looking around at everyone, trying to pass the time until the plane would arrive.

Castiel had always been somewhat quiet. He wasn't much of a speaker, even around his own family. He preferred to keep to himself. And liked it that way. Small talk was not his strong suit.

Each of the Novaks had their own set of wings, as they are angels of the Lord. Their feathery wings stay hidden under their clothes but the wings need to stretch as much as possible.

Cas' wings are a raven black with blue mixing in and adding some shimmer. The blue happened to be the exact same color as his eyes.

For Castiel, he will be studying for an art major. This major required him to take drawing, painting and structural planning classes. The university also required that Castiel take two of the main courses as well. The options of main courses being a sort of language, a sort of history, a type of science or a type of mathematics. Cas had chosen the history of the United States, to learn about the human's point of view on the past; and English writing just because he enjoys writing.

Gabriel chose to do a theatre arts major, because it seemed the most fun to him. And, oh, the tricks he could pull with this course. Gabe, after finding out what Cas had chosen as his other courses, chose the same two classes so there was a chance they would be in a class together.
