~ Dean Winchester ~

Dean only got a few hours of sleep that night. Even waking up, hours later, he still didn't know how to react to this whole thing. Castiel was an Angel. A literal Angel. With wings and shit! His roommate is an Angel. An Angel.

He had never heard of an angel appearing, like ever. So this was all new. Was there a way to kill the angels? Not that Dean would want to kill an angel. He didn't see a reason to. Yet. How many other angels are there? Is there only a few? Or way more?

Dean swung his legs off the bed and sighed to himself. Cas seemed to be still unconscious on his own bed. Dean's eyes found their way over to Castiel's black and blue wings. The hunter couldn't help but feel the need to touch the soft feathers. But he kept himself from doing so. Imagine what would happen in Cas just woke up and Dean was touching his feathers!

The Winchester sat there for a while. How long exactly, Dean didn't know. Dean was about to stand up and go find Sam or even Gabriel when he heard a rustling in the bed next to his. He looked and saw Cas slowly waking up.

"Hey," Dean spoke up to grab Castiel's attention.

Cas immediately looked up and jumped in his bed. Dean noticed the way Cas pulled his wings back but winced at the movement.

Dean held his hands up in surrender. Cas looked at him hesitantly but relaxed a bit. They were both silent for a few moments. Dean watched his very uncomfortable roommate.

"Buddy, you okay?" Dean asks eventually.

Cas' blue- and currently dull with pain- eyes bored into Dean's. "Don't ask stupid questions."

"Do you remember what happened?" Dean asked Castiel.

"Why is that the question you decided to ask first?" Cas' head tilted towards Dean. "Gabriel's bad at explaining things, why did you choose that question? Surely there's others?"

Dean laughed softly and shook his head. "Gabriel did fill us in on most everything. Me and Sam got the rest."

"Then how long was I out?"

Dean glanced over at the clock. "A few hours since I found you. Cas, what happened?"

But there was a knock on the door before Cas could answer.

~ Gabriel Novak ~

"So, you're an archangel."

Gabriel turned at the voice. He stood in the parking lot outside of Building 3. The archangel quickly spotted Sam making his way over to him.

"Yup." Gabe rolled his eyes. "All the titles I have, demi-god, trickster, I really hate the archangel one," Gabriel said honestly.

Sam leaned against the wall of the building and looked at his neighbor and classmate. "How come? Being an angel can't be that bad, can it? I mean, it sounds really great being an all-good being. Like, we actually found an inhuman creature that isn't evil."

Gabriel chuckled and shook his head. "Oh no. Being an archangel is terrible. You're forced to watch as all the chaos around you ensues and you can't do anything about it. And also, most all of the other angels are dicks. Those younger than you refuse to hang out and those older than you practically hate you. Pretty bad life to live."

"There isn't any good things about being an archangel?" Sam tested.

"Well, you get to watch as everything evolves and changes. Which can be good, but not always."

Sam nodded.

The two were silent for a little while before Sam spoke up once again.

"Hey, I'm sorry for reacting like that. It's just common nature when you don't know what exactly is in front of you," Sam apologized.
