~ Dean Winchester ~
The name Castiel repeated itself in the hunter's mind. What kind of name was Castiel?
"Well, Cas-" the said man frowned slightly at that nickname but didn't say anything "-what major are you studying?" Dean asked, trying to spark a conversation.
"I will be doing an art major. And you?" Castiel replied.
"Mechanics," Dean said as they entered building 3.
There was a silence between them as they walked. It did feel a bit awkward for both of them. Dean decided to speak again. "Where did your parents get the name 'Castiel'?"
Castiel glanced at Dean before answering, "it's a religious name. I am named after the Angel Castiel."
Dean nods. He never really was religious. 'Course, he had to know a few things, having had to read as much lore as possible for the creatures he and Sam would face. But he never got around to actually believing in the things that haven't been proven yet.
They reach their shared dorm room and walk inside. Castiel goes back to unpacking his things while Dean takes a good look at his new room.
There were two desks, two dressers, a small eating table and a tiny fridge. The door to the bathroom was right next to the empty bed. Castiel had already chosen his bed.
~ Castiel Novak ~
As Cas unpacked his things, he came to realize that this was really going to be hard. Like, really tough. With Dean as his roommate, he would probably only get a few hours at night to stretch his wings, if any time at all.
Keeping the fact that he is a literal Angel from Dean, overall was going to be a challenge. Cas probably wouldn't be able to use his powers a lot. Going undercover as a human meant bringing the use of his magic down to a certain level, not ignoring it completely. Cas was practically created to use his magic and now, for the next year, he wouldn't be able to. If he managed to keep his secret hidden from Dean the whole year.
Cas was stuck up in his own thoughts, he barely noticed that he had unfinished packing and was just standing there.
The Angel blinked out of his thoughts and sat down on his bed. The bed felt uncomfortable, but he wasn't going to be using it much, so he didn't care.
'Gabe, I have a bit of a problem', Cas decided to contact his brother through the sort of telepathic connection all angels shared.
Gabriel's response came almost immediately, 'what is it, little bro?'
Castiel hesitated to respond. His wings ruffled slightly under his trench coat. 'Something went wrong and I have been paired up with a roommate. The kind woman at the desk said she could not change it up and we are stuck together.'
'That sucks,' came Gabriel's response.
Cas waited a moment, he knew the information needed to sink in for the realisation to hit his brother.
'Wait-'
There it is.
'A roommate. Shit, that's bad. What if I come over there, give your roommate my room and then we share?'
'I don't believe that's allowed, Gabriel. And I don't think that would work, either,' Cas said honestly.
'So you're just going to pull through without using your powers or letting your wings out?' Gabriel asked. Cas could practically see the frown on his brother's face as he sucked on his lollipop.
