~ The Winchesters ~

Sam let Dean inside his room with a huff. "We gotta start so early in the morning?" Sam asks.

"Yes," Dean sarcastically replies with a dry tone. "What'll be our first stop?"

"I dunno, breakfast maybe?"

After a quick breakfast per Sam's request, the brothers started the day. They decided that their best shot was to first go to the most recent victim's house, who happened the be the one they talked about earlier with the other students.

The two brothers made their way over to the building that had once been Mark West's home. Before they could go up to it, however, Dean got a call.

"Hello?"

"Dean, as much as I hate to say it, I haven't found a single thing about the whole Novak-Winchester story. I have been looking everywhere but not luck yet. Thought I should inform you. I'll call again if I find anything," Bobby's voice was on the other end of the line.

"No, no. Bobby, it's fine. Actually, the guy who told me the story could be a shifter. We aren't sure yet. But we are looking into it, so you don't have to continue looking. But we appreciate it, Bobby."

"'Lright. You boys stay safe."

Dean hung up the phone and put the device into his pocket. "Let's go."

Sam and Dean made their way up to the front door and knocked. It was a few moments before a woman opened the door.

"Hello, can I help you?" The woman asked them.

"Yes, actually. I'm Agent Jake Sandoval and this is my partner Mike Fox," both brother took out their fake FBI badges. "Would you happen to be Mark West's mother?" Sam asked, speaking first.

The woman nodded. "Yes, I'm Katie West, Mark is... w-was my son."

The fake badges were put away as Sam spoke again. "May we please come in?"

Mrs. West opened the door wide, allowing both Winchesters to come in.

"I was not aware the Feds would be in on this investigation," a new voice came from the living room. The Winchesters followed Mrs. West towards the voice and into the living room.

"Yes, this is my husband, Tom," Mrs. West introduced her husband, "he's one of the head cops at the local police department."

Both boys nodded at the man.

"If you don't believe us, you can always call our chief," Dean suggested casually.

Mr. West looked at both Winchesters for a moment before nodding. "What's the number?" He didn't trust either one of them.

Dean took out a card and handed it to Mr. West. The man took out his phone and dialed the number.

"Hello, this is Officer West of the Chico Police Department and I would like to ask you to confirm that agents Soldova-"

"It's Sandoval," Sam corrected.

"Sandoval and Fox have been sent to check out the case of Mark West's death?"

The brothers couldn't hear what was happening on the other line but watched as Mr. West's face changed.

"Y-yes, of course," Mr. West said into the phone, "I understand that, but-" he was cut off, "I know." A sigh. "All right. Thank you for your time."

Mr. West hung up the phone with a huff.

One could always count on Bobby to give a suspecting officer a hard time.
