~ Dean Winchester ~
Dean made his way through the hallways of building 3. A few other students were out and about, walking and talking as they travelled along. He made it to room 394 and walked inside. He noticed his roommate laying on his bed, facing the wall.
By now, the sun had set. Dean and Sam had spent their day walking around and getting a feel for everything. They met a few people, even ran into two of the teachers, one of which Dean would have a class with. Sam had gone back to his room a few hours earlier and Dean had spent time by himself, walking about.
It was probably around 7 o'clock about now, Dean hadn't checked the time in a while.
Dean had found a bar not far from the dorms that he could go to. He even forced Sammy to go inside with him and have a drink. Or three.
"Are you good?" Dean asked his roommate. He wasn't too concerned, he just wanted to check in.
"Yes, I am fine, Dean," Cas answered, not turning to face the hunter.
The room was silent for a little bit as Dean did a few things around the room. Eventually, Cas turned to face Dean. Castiel sat up, his eyes still on his slightly taller roommate.
"You know," Cas started, "my father used to tell me and my siblings a story about two Winchesters. It was probably my favorite story as a kid. Gabriel enjoyed it as well, not much my other siblings."
Dean turned and looked over at Castiel. The hunter's green eyes lingered on the man in front of him before he moved and sat down on his own bed, across from Cas'.
"Tell me about it," he suggested.
Cas' eyes travelled to the floor between them before he started to tell the story.
"The way my father told us about it, the story always seemed like a prophecy more than a tall tale. He told us that there will be a time when two Novaks- he always loved to tie our family name into the stories he told- would meet two Winchesters. The Winchesters, as my father said, were flawed in many ways. But despite the challenges they faced and the troubles they went through, they never gave up; never gave up on each other. He said when the time came for the two families to unite, it would not tie just the four of them, but two whole worlds."
Dean smiled softly at that story. Cas' eyes had stayed on the ground, avoiding Dean's, the whole time.
"Did the 'prophecy' ever come true?" Dean asked, making Castiel look up at him.
"No, I do not believe it did."
Dean nodded and stood up from his bed. "Well, I think I'm going to go get some dinner. Want to come with?"
"No, thank you. I will pass."
"Alright. Still your loss," Dean answered, walking out of the room and closing the door behind him.
The second the door clicked shut, Dean pulled out his phone. He dialed a number and put the phone to his ear.
After a few rings, the person on the other line picked up.
"Hello?"
"Bobby," Dean breathed out.
"What's up, kid? Find anything fishy?" Bobby asked.
Dean walked down a flight of stairs, thinking some exercise would be good.
"Not about the case. But do you happen to know anything about a story of two Novaks and two Winchesters?"
"Nothin on the top of my head. Why?"
Dean shook his head, even though Bobby couldn't see him. "Mind checking for me?"
