30DAYS OFWRITING; DAY10
10-Describe the world that the story happens in
There are two worlds featured in this; the real world and the Time Stop world. The real world is the grey, drab world that Oksana lives in but it's what she wants to live in, what she wants to commit to. In the book, most of the depressing, slower, deeper scenes happen in the real world where everything is moving but none of it seems to matter anymore. The Time Stop world is the opposite; nothing is moving, everything is frozen and everyone who is immune feels powerful like a god. The Time Stop world has quite a bright, dangerous and exciting feel to it and more action then thinking takes place there.
The actual setting is, vaguely, Melbourne, Australia and the time period is vaguely now. The setting is very urban and is based entirely around the city and places in the city (or slightly east of the city, but, you know, technicalities). The whole world, when in a Time Stop, is like a photograph, with everyone frozen in their actions and every item frozen unless 'activated.' Other than that, it's all pretty normal.
