After being thrown in the jail cell, the two troubled blondes sat in silence. JJ rested soundlessly on the bench, dropping his head. Pulling his hair in both frustration and disappointment. All while Bondi took a seat along the cold, stone wall. Her blue eyes watered, in shame. She hadn't expected her hard tough exterior to break so easily. But how she was wrong. Reality was soon sinking in and the girl did not like it.

"I'm just like her," Bondi muttered. Trying to hide the tears that were about to spill over her flushed cheeks. JJ let go of his head and gave Bondi his full attention.

"What are you talking about?" JJ mumbled, with his hoarse voice.

"My Mom, I'm just like her."

JJ frowned at the statement. The bubbly girl in front of him was nothing like her drug endorsed mother. Bondi's mom was selfish, irresponsible, and discourteous. The petite girl was far from those things. Bondi was selfless, caring, and kind. Every member in the Pogue crew would agree.

The disheveled boy made his way toward his friend, taking a seat to the right of her. "Bondi, you are nothing like her. Why would you even think that?"

The girl scoffed, as she threw her hands around the room. "Look around JJ. I am not sure if you haven't noticed, but we are sitting in jail. You know who else has a cozy seat in a cell? My dear mother. I've alway tried so hard to not follow in her footsteps, but I guess failing at life runs in the family."

JJ immediately shook his head. Grabbing her small hands, he met her sad eyes. "You know I'm shit at coping with feelings. So don't make fun of me okay?"

Bondi lightly grinned at his words, making JJ proud that he at least gained a smile. Looking into the boys blue eyes, Bondi barely mumbled, "I wont make fun."

JJ soon held up his pinkie in her direction, "pinkie promise?"

Wrapping her smaller pinkie around his, Bondi muttered, "pinkie promise."

JJ threw her a quick smile before he went on with his speech. "I know this may seem bad. Hell it seems even worse than bad.''

Bondi gave him a pointed look, that translated to, "this is just making me feel worse."

"Hold on hold. Let me finish. Yeah the situation isn't good, but has that ever stopped us before? No, it hasn't. You know why? Because of you Bondi. You turn every negative into a positive. Sure our life kinda sucks, but I have never once, heard you ever complain about it. You always see the light at the end of the tunnel. Bondi you are beautiful, inside and out. Something your mother will never be."

Bondi gave him a saddened smile, "JJ I think I have something to tell you."

His bright eyes widened with hope, while he encouraged her to get whatever she needed off her chest. However, before that could happen Sheriff Perterkins came storming in. The two friends quickly broke apart in surprise.

"You two, my office now," the cop demanded.

Both Bondi and JJ scurry up, following an angry Sherriff to her office. The two took a seat as they await, what Peterkins was going to say. "You guys are like a little rock in my shoe. I shake my foot, I think Ive gotten it out, then dang! There it is again."

Bondi threw a sarcastic smile, while JJ relaxed back in his chair. "Maybe watch where you're steppin."

Peterkins stood over the two, trying to intimidate them. "That little rock on the back of my heel makes me want to crush it."
