It had been a week since Josie's party and Anne and Gilbert were back to their usual ways of being competitive and arguing a lot in class. Neither of them wanted any (friendly) interaction since their supposedly forgotten night at Josie's house. Charlie and Anne had gotten closer over the week as did Gilbert and Ruby. Everything was going according to the plan. Right.

Anne awoke with a fright. Her hair sticking to her sweaty forehead. Her breathing unsteady, while her heart felt like it was being pulled out of her chest. She had a nightmare again. These were common for Anne, so she knew exactly what to do in situations like these, although it never usually worked. She tried to go back to sleep, but kept recalling her nightmare.
-The nightmare-
"You useless girl. You can't even look after a few kids. No one will ever want you. MR HAMMOND!!.", Mrs Hammond yelled at the frightened girl, Anne. A tall man came out of the house and stood next to Mrs Hammond.
"This worthless orphan forgot to feed the kids. I think she needs reminding of what the punishment is for forgetfulness.", Mrs Hammond directly looked at the girl with an evil glint shimmering in her eye.
Mr Hammond silently nodded and what inside to achieve his belt. He walked back out with a small sinister smile in the corner of his mouth. "Sorry Anne, but you shoulda been more responsible. I have no other choice, but to do this. You need to learn.",
His lifted his hand with the belt in. His arm going in full strength to slap her. Anne pleaded with her voice but it was no use. Before the belt made contact with her skin she awoke.
-End of nightmare-
Anne looked over to her phone before grabbing it. She started to scroll through Instagram and saw the photos from the party, which she hadn't seen yet although it had been a week already.
