Anne and Charlie were engaged in small conversation before Ruby turned around to face Anne.
"Anne, are you excited for this week? I know I am. It's going to be filled with many adventures. We should share a room with Diana. Well we already are because I talked to Miss Stacey and she allowed us too. We are going to stay up at nights and talk and laugh and have fun. I cannot wait", Ruby squealed. She was practically bouncing up and down.
"Same! We are going to have an amazing week.", Anne replied with the same amount of enthusiasm.
"Gilbert. I'm glad I'm spending this week with you", Ruby turned to face her boyfriend. Anne quickly turned her head towards the window to hide her jealously.
"Yeah same.", Gilbert hastily said. He didn't really care much for spending the entire week with Ruby, but he did want to spend the week with Anne. Talking with her and observing the wilderness with her.
"Anne", Charlie turned to face his girlfriend. "I believe that Miss Stacey will give us the day to settle in, so after we have unpacked our bags let's say we go to the beach for a walk?",
"In this weather? It's freezing cold outside", Anne giggled keeping her head facing towards the window, watching the moving trees and houses.
"Yeah. Come on. It will be fun, it's not like we are going in the ocean", Charlie kept persisting meanwhile Gilbert was listening intently at their conversation. He wanted Anne to decline because them spending time together made him insanely jealous.
"Okay sure why not", Anne faced Charlie with a smile. She accepted the offer because Anne remembered the promise she made to Ruby and herself. That she would give herself a week to change her mind about the feelings she was having towards Charlie.
Gilbert needed to stop their little date to the beach. He didn't know why, he didn't want to know why.
"Hey Charlie, Dreamer", Gilbert turned to face the couple. His eyes immediately feel on Anne's ocean ones. He couldn't help but stare for a few seconds. Gilbert quickly looked away and thought of a solution.
"Yes", Charlie cleared his throughout obviously awaiting Gilbert's voice.
"How about me and Ruby join you both on the walk across the beach.", Gilbert smiled. Charlie gave him a look as if to say 'dude, no', yet Gilbert didn't care. "You know what. HEY Everyone. After we have settled into the hotel or cabin or wherever. We should all go to the beach and have a walk", Gilbert announced to the rest of there friends.
"Yes! Me and Jerry are coming", Diana replied back.
"I'm in", Tillie and Moody both agreed
"Yeah me and Jane will come, but no photos. We will have too many layers on to look pretty", Josie laughed.
"Yeah same, but is it alright if Hunter comes along.", Hunter was another kid in their English class, but no of them were really talked to him before. Cole said
"That's okay", Gilbert agreed, knowing that the more people there are the less likely Anne and Charlie would spend alone time together. "Great, so after packing let's meet outside and go to the beach. Whatever the weather is", Gilbert smiled to himself.
Anne looked towards Gilbert, wondering why he was being so odd. Neither of them have spoken much during the journey. She was secretly thankful that she didn't have to go to the beach alone with Charlie. It would be too awkward and uncomfortable.
Charlie tapped Anne on the shoulder, beckoning her to take her headphones out to speak.
Charlie leant in and whispered "I kinda wished we would be alone.",
