When the World Falls Silent

Hello, I'm back, it's been a minute since I've written anything so please bear with me. 🤠

Aizawas' POV

I stood in the production control room of the news station. Monitors showing the broadcast everywhere as the production crew tapped away at keyboards and adjusted audio. They'd just finished their story about the hospital incident and were now talking about some charity event.

Hizashi begrudgingly left earlier to go talk to Nezu, who insisted it be a face to face conversation. Nemuri left as well to go check on and feed the cats. I would have preferred to do either, yet here I am.

It felt... Odd. Being alone that is. Like a non comfortable sort of odd. This case has been getting to me, getting to all of us. Especially Hizashi.

None of it makes sense. The boy, his quirk, his background. Everything's off in a big way and I can't quite piece it together.

The best we can do for now is try to find the kid.

Someone has to have seen him, no one can completely disappear. Not entirely.

There has to be something that connects everything together, something we're missing.

I thought back to the hospital, before everything went to shit. The boy seemed scared, likely because of his home life. Yet there was a moment. Brief as it might have been, where he felt comforted by Hizashi.

He didn't immediately run from the iida boy, but took the opportunity as soon as possible. The kids good on his feet but not confrontational enough to have just told him no. He got away with what he could and was able to avoid an entire squad of people specifically looking for him. So clearly he knows how and where to hide.

And then there's the blonde. Loud kid, anger issues. Maybe we should talk to him again. See what school was like. If this kid was hiding a quirk then there must be someone who knew about it. I've worked with teens long enough to know how bad they are at keeping secrets. Gossiping little shits always know something about someone.

He mentioned journals. But if they were at his home then they'd have been burned to a crisp. I wonder if Tsukauchi sent anyone to look through the kids locker?

We should check with the police again to see what they've learned since yesterday.

The tall brunette man wearing a headset briskly walked up to me, interrupting my train of thought. "Someone just called the hotline. A waiter at Bengals bistro reported a green haired boy covered in bandages was there less than half an hour ago, accompanied by another boy. Heros patrolling the area are already on scene talking to witnesses. We've contacted the police and they're in route to collect security footage."

I know where Bengals is. I've been there before. The kid was only a few miles from the Iida residence. How did no one spot him before?

"Did you say he was with another kid?" I asked. From everything we've learned so far this kid was described as a loner.

"Yes." The man affirmed. "Though I don't currently have any other details."

I was already pulling up Hizashi contact before he finished his sentence. "Alright, thanks for letting me know." I said to the man.

I clicked the call button as I left the room. The call rang, once, twice, then went straight to voicemail. He must be meeting with nezu already.

I've got to get there ASAP. I sent a text to Nemuri and Hizashi, updating them on what I learned. Getting a quick reply from Nemuri. "On my way 💜"

Izukus POV

Shinsos and I quickly walked out of the cafe, turning a corner. He went to grab my hand again before hesitating, deciding not to.
