————————————————————————"Do you take this man to be your lawfully wedded husband?"
"I do."
"Do you take this-"
"Yeah. Let's get this over with." Richard looks down at his watch. He was going to be late.
"Richard!" Gloria hissed at her new husband, who impatiently tapping his toes.
Even though, he was forced to marry her, her heart galloped.
Richard Dante was an old college friend, she had remembered and stayed in touch for eons.
He was ripped, rich and rakish. The fact she had become his only friend, when she saved him from jumping off the ledge was romantic on her part.
"What?" He snarled. Not on his part.
Richard was in due to a meeting in five minutes with his dad, Robert Dante. The founder of The Dante Enterprise, an Italian-domiciled multinational professional services company.
It had been incorporated in Florence, Italy when Robert had headed the company.
After retirement, he handed the company down to Richard becoming the CEO.
It's been reported revenues of $100 billion, with more than 500,000 employees, serving clients in more than 400 cities in 150 countries.
At crispy age of twenty five, he was responsible for the overall success of the company. That's because of his wit and very cunning mentality.
As the ultimate authority in making final decisions, Richard had realized that sometimes a wrong decision may be better than no decision at all.
His success climbed more when he always enters a challenging decision and asked himself two questions.
First, whats the jolt when the decision is wrong? And second, how much will it hold if he doesn't move this decision up.
That approach had inspired his own company's team members to trust their own judgment on operational decisions.
Richard makes it critical to freeing the CEO up to home in on fewer but more important decisions.
"You may kiss the bride." The marriage officiant states after closing his book.
"That's not necessary. My chauffeur will take you back home."
With that he sprinted out of the chapel, moving to the waiting silver Porsche 911 Carrera.
Ahh...the finer things Richard is rewarded among other things. With hard work, normal people tend to earn themselves a nice gift.
Richard is just like that. He believes in dues. The time and work put into something, he deserves the rightful outcome.
Now the problem wasn't his hard work, or the strenuous hours given to his company.
It's the hubris in him.
The excessive self confidence and powerful pride makes Richard stand out in the crowd.
He had become too big. Too much for the world.
When he got into his car, his phone beeped. Taking a quick glance he saw his father's missed call and a text message saying: You are late.
He clenched his teeth and calmed himself. If not for the wedding, then he wouldn't have been late.
