"Good morning, Richard." Robert's voice boomed in the far reaching hall.
Richard was too busy staring at what's behind him, and Robert's lips smiled a secret one.
He met Dawn earlier, who had a camera strap looped around her, on his way inside and the young lady and himself got into a rapt conversation.
He asked her about her job and admired the passion her voice. She had a remarkable beauty and he knew now why Richard had been going home often early.
In fact he missed last week's scheduled meeting and Richard never passed over a work related appointment.
He then knew it had to do with some girl. It was common but unusual for Richard. On meeting Dawn, he understood straightaway.
Sitting on the plush dining chair, Lorenzo greeted him. "What would you like, Robert?"
A hand over his stomach, he smacked his lips. "Your famous eggs benedict."
"Right away."
Dawn suddenly feeling uncomfortable, nervous stated. "I'll be heading out-"
"Nonsense! Come and sit with me. I want to know more about my granddaughter."
Purposely to prod Richard and seeing the cringe on his face, Robert stifled his laugh.
The boy has got it...Dawn fidgeted her hands as she walked down the table and sat next to Robert. The man from the portrait was even more animated and emboldened in person.
Her eyes were kept pointedly away from Richard's face. She couldn't bear to take a look of him. He was becoming a huge pain in her ass.
Not to mention, what happened between them before and now when he was laughing at her mother's back biting comment on her photography.
She didn't really care about her mother. She was used to it but seeing Richard laugh like that, pulled a knot in her stomach.
"So what's your inspiration?" Dawn tried not to choke on her own spit at that question.
It was so innocent yet the extent to what only she and the other handsome sleeze ball knew were carnal.
"Nature." She said, not exactly a lie but also partly true.
"Now don't lie."
Her spine aligned sharply at Richard's voice.
Her back had been already in pain from the laundry room's debauchery. Now, it stung more.
She met his gaze, his face relaxed and pinkish lips smirking.
Dawn's curled her own lips too, meeting him head on. "Well, the truth is my inspiration comes from seeing sewage and cow dung manure. It's putrid and malodorous smell is what actually gives me my aspiration."
Everyone was quiet.
Then, Robert barked out a laugh and continued to wheeze. Even Gloria with her sham giggles, copied Robert.
Only Richard didn't find it amusing. Instead his eyes locked on to hers.
She lifted her chin in a dissident manner.
In return, he tiled his head inspecting her and he drew his lips inside.
Oh no...not again. Not wanting to get caught in his cache, Dawn stood up.
Eyes on her, she manages to turns to Robert. "Lovely meeting you but I have to get to work."
Robert stood up, and pressed his lips on her hand. "Pleasure is all mine."
