The Apocalypse Love

After wards

After everyone welcomed us home Rick took me aside to talk to me. 

He said " How did you like going on the run."

" Are you kiddding me I love going on runs. It keeps me in practice it helps me remeber that we are never really safe in this world , that no matter how safe I feel their is danger always near."

" I say the same thing... well how would you like your job to be just going on runs I would do it but I need to stay in camp just in case things go south."

" Really I would love to.... but can I think about, is that alright."

" Of course just let me know when you decide."

I walked away and found Carl and handed him a note to meet me in my tent in one hour.

I was in the middle of a page of my book. When I looked up and saw Carl standing there looking at me read. I wonder how long he has been there.

I said quietly " Hey how long have you been standing there why didnt you say anything?"

" I didnt want to disturb your reading... so why did you want to see me?"

" Ummm well..."

" What is it?"

" Well your Dad just asked me if I could do most of the runs around here and I wanted to ummm... run it by you before I said anything."

" Well why would you want my input?"

" Because I really like you and arent we like a... iteam?"

" Umm ...."

Oh my god are we not dating oh my god did I just embaress myself infront of Carl out of all people in the world.

He continued his thought" Well... Yeah I guess we are an iteam."

Omg thank god.

" So what do you think I should do?"

" Well I dont like the thought of you out there risking your life but, I do understand why you would want to go. But just to make it clear every run you are asigned to Im coming to. Im not going to let you out of my sight. I will be by your side the whole time."

Omg he cares that much aqbout me risking his life to make sure Im going to be alright. He cares.

" Oh your so sweet" I gave him I kiss and said " Im going to tell your dad about the Job and us do you want to come"

" Umm. sure."

We walked together hollding hands across camp looking for Rick. When we found him we called for him to tell him the great news.

Carl said " Dad we have something to say. We are sort of a couple."

Im still not used to hearing that. I started to blush.

Rick had the happiest look on his face and said" Thats wonderful im so happy for you two."

" Really Dad I thought you would be mad." 

" Why would I be mad. I wanted you to have a normal life and this is one step closer to you having one."

I interuppted and said" Thats so sweet Rick."

Rick than changed the subject and asked me " Have you decided if you are going to take the job?"

" Yes we have we decided together ... that I am going to take it but Carl insists that he will be on every run im on."

" Well I dont like the idea of Carl risking his life like that but .... I will allpw this as long as you keep an eye on him out there."

" Of course I will I wont let him out of my sight."

Than Rick hugged me and Carl both. And than went to finish  some  business. My self and Carl were both thrilled that everything went smooth and that Rick is allowing Carl to occupany me on all my runs.
