The Apocalypse Love

A question.

The next day I wake up with Carl's arms around me. I look up to see he is awake.

I say to him softly "Morning how long have you been awake."

He says smiling "Probably an hour... I didn't want to disturb you... you look so peaceful when you sleep."

Awww how sweet.I look up and give him a kiss.

" What was that for?"He says with a smile on his face.

" Because." I say laughing.

" I love you" He said nervously.

Awww he loves me. How sweet.

" I love you too." I say with a smile on my face.

In a matter of minutes Rick opens my tent without me even noticing. He's looking for Carl and I, I guess.

" Oh sorry.... I didn't know you guys just woke up." He says.

I said " It's fine Rick come in."

" What do you need." Carl said while sitting up.

" Well I sort of need you guys to go out on a run today, it's fine if you guys can't I'll just get someone else to do it." He mumbles.

" No... Rick we are more than happy to right Carl?"I say.

" Yeah sure that's fine with me." He says.

I can tell he doesn't want to go on the run. But we have to we have to do our part around camp.

Rick replies saying " Okay thanks guys be ready in an hour oh and Maggie and Glenn are coming with you guys."

I'm glad it's not just me and Carl going by ourselves it's better this way because if something happens it would be more convenient.

" We will be ready by than." I say with a smile.

When Rick leaves I can tell Carl isn't so happy about it. I wonder why? Was it something I said?

" Carl are you okay... what's wrong ? I sigh.

" It's just we just got back from a run a few days ago and now we have to do another... I just thought we would have a few more days before we had to go again... we sort of had a close call last time." He mumbles.

Oh I totally forgot about that. Now I feel bad.

" It's okay Carl we'll be fine... I got your back and you got mine." I say looking in his eyes.

" Yeah okay...at least we have Maggie and Glenn if things go south." He says looking relieved.

I sigh in relive and say " We should probably get packing."

" Okay ...but first." He says leaning closer to me than kissing me.

This turns into to a make out session lasting about five minutes.

I say to him " Now we have to pack."

He sighs" Fine."

I just don't want to leave right now. Every time we walk out side of these walls we risk everything. What if something happens?
