The Apocalypse Love

A day to remember.

Carl and I finished packing about five minutes ago. We started heading towards the rest of the group walking together holding each other's hand. I don't want to leave just yet but I know I have to. I can tell that Carl still isn't happy about the run but,  I know he knows that we have to.carl sighs before we get to the rest of the group.

I whisper to him" Carl are you alright"

He says " Yeah...I um guess so."

We headed towards Rick and the rest. As soon as we are seen Judith comes running up asking me to hold her. Which I do how can I say no to her.

She quietly says " Do you and Carl have to leave?"

I sigh " Yes we do but we are only going to be gone for a few days."

Carl comes over and takes Judith from me so he could say bye to her.

Carl says to her " Hey... Judith I promise I will be back I soon as I can... I'm going to miss you."

She says to him " I'll miss you to... be back soon she says leaving Carl and I."

I smirk " She's so cute."

Carl says " Yeah almost as cute as you are."

I playfully hit him " Your so sweet" and I quickly kiss him before we go see the rest of them.

Rick sees us and comes running to us. I wonder why he's in such a hurry?

Rick says catching trying to catch his breath " He quickly says follow me."

So Carl and I do we  see Maggie and Glenn looking through there bags making sure they have everything.

Maggie says" So Rick where are we going."

" Well ..." Rick says like he's hiding something.

Glenn says looking annoyed " Rick just tell us we dont have all day."

He says " Well there has been a chance of plans...your run is not to get food or guns or anything like that.... it's kinda a search and rescue mission."

We all just stare at him. I wonder who's missing. Wait who haven't I seen today?

Carl blurts out " Who's missing Dad... who is it?"

" It's Noah... He went missing... I told Daryl about this and he and Carol left a day ago to try and find him... I'm worried so I need you to find Noah I need you to find all of them."

We all stay silent for a few minutes. It was actually really awkward.

Maggie and Glenn say in unison " Well what are we waiting for let's go."

We all say are good byes and start to head out. I hope we find them. I hope nothing happened to any of them. I know I have only known them for a little bit... but they are the closest thing I have to a family now the group is my family. I don't want my family to get hurt.

I get snapped out of my thoughts when Carl starts talking to me.

Carl says " Claire are you ok... is something wrong?"

I answer him shyly " No not really I just hope none of them are hurt I just don't want any of us to go through another loss."

Maggie comes up from behind me and says " Don't worrie about them... they can take care of themselves... there probably just got sidetracked. "

I nod and say " I hope your right."

Carl comes close to me and puts his arm around my shoulder. And I can here whispering.

Maggie whispers " There so cute."

Glenn laughs and gives Carl a thumbs up. I just ignore them and see that Carl is staring at me.

I mumble " Why are you staring at me?"

Carl says while blushing "Because.. I just love you and think your cute."

All I hear after that are awwws coming from behind us.

"Thanks ... I love you to." I say and then kiss him.

All of our happiness is brought to holt when we see that Daryl is sitting on the ground holding Carol in his arms while she is crying. What happened? Why is she crying.

We caught Daryl off guard and he points his crossbow at us.

Glenn says" With its just us... what happened."

Daryl puts down his crossbow and sighs and he starts explaining " Well we ran into this little girl... and Carol and I were going to bring her back to camp with us as soon as we find Noah ... but things didn't go so well ... A herd came by and we couldn't get to her in time." He wraps his arms around Carol tighter.

That's awful. I can't believe this happened. I look down to Carol and she starts to say something.

She chokes out " It's my fault I didn't keep her close enough." And continues to cry.

My heart just drops. Why does this always happen to good people? Why did this have to happen at all?
