I carefully knocked the door of Michael's office.
"Are you there honey?", I asked.
A loud shattering rung through the thin walls, followed by several loud groans of him.
"I'm right there, just a moment!", he sounded rushed, his tone nervous.
I heard heavy footsteps and stumpling towards the door .
Knitting my eyebrows at the sight that was given me as he opened the door.
His hair was a total mess, not that he always looked a little tangled but it was on a different level there.
Several buttons on his shirt were open and others were not even right buttoned.
Sweat dripped off his forehead as he stared at me.
"Amanda?", he asked surprised, if I could tell he wasn't happy to see me.
My eyes scanned his whole being, his messy self.
"Michael?, what happened to you?".
Without any answer he grabbed my arm and pulled me inside.
"At first, come in", he mumbled shutting the door.
He quickly tried to fix the buttons on his shirt as he turned around.
"Michael, answer me", I pleaded.
"I.. uhm I spilled coffee over myself", he told me.
"And that is why you're so messed up?".
Who do you wanna fool?
"Well, you simply surprised me, so I got in a hurry", he shrugged his shoulders.
I facepalmed, dropped the box with food on the table, "Whatever", my tone got angry, and with this left his office.

His hand and his knuckles had bruises, some parts were swollen as I could tell. He sweated as if he ran a marathon, all of this simply because he spilled some coffee?... Never!

On my way home I made a plan just to confirm my assumtions.
He probably will go out tonight to work on his album, so I'm gonna follow him... just this one time. If he has a secret I'm gonna get it, I thought.
He's acting very strange, the phone call, the things Valerie mentioned and now this.

I parked the car and went into the house.
Picking up the letters from the floor, I smiled in surprise.
"Finally", I chirped.
One letter was for us to pay the last rent, after this one the house will finally be our own.
No more payments for it.
We worked so hard and spent almost our entire money to get a facility for building this house. And now it's almost done.

But my mind quickly trailed back to personal stuff and my own problems.
I put the other letters that were adressed to Michael himself on the small teapoy right next to the entrance door.
At least I'm not that snoopy to stick my nose in his mails.

It wasn't long until Michael came home from his office.
"Amanda?", he asked along the way entering the house.
I ignored his calls, I simply needed some time out. To settle things and to calm myself down before I start to overact again.
I still don't have any truely evidence yet so I can't blame him for anything or loose my temper over any suspicion that wasn't proven guilty.
I took a deep breath, rubbing my temples. Calm down Amanda, I repeated those words like a mantra.
"Darling please", I heard him say. He sounded so offended yet lost somehow.
I rolled my eyes and turned up the volume of the speaker, sliding a little deeper into the hot soothing water from the tub.
He knocked the door. "May I come in?, We need to talk".
"Not now Michael", I kept it short.

His pleadings wouldn't stop and I got really annoyed by it.
I groaned, lifting myself out of the bathrub.
Grabbing the nearest towel I could find, swung it around my body and unlocked the door.
"What?", I asked in a sharp voice, he really hit one of my last nerves.
"I want to talk to you", he said, looking with puppy eyes at me.
"About what?, huh?", I began.
"Michael, really, I don't want to talk to you about anything right now, I need to assimilate it myself, so leave me alone".
I closed the slit and went back into the bathroom.

I got curious as the night set in and heard him walking around getting ready as usual.
"I'm out for shooting", he mumbled, knocking a few times on the door to make sure I get it.
At this time I was about to make my hair.
I shot a short "Alright", towards the door and switched on the blow-dryer.

The entrance door slammed shut and I quickly rushed down the stairs, grabbing my coat.
A few moments past as I left the house to follow his path.
I kept a safe distance so he wouldn't notice that I was around.

He strolled down the streets, passing several apartment buildings.
My heart skipped a beat as I was walking behind him. I was afraid of what was to come but curious on the other hand and somehow convinced that he was innocence.
Nether the less I was shaking and my legs felt weak with every step I took and every second that past.

After a whole eternity it seemed that he reached his destination.
He stopped right before a great building. Looking around himself.
I was already hiding on a bus stop. Just in case.
He walked through a long alley that, as I discovered later lead to another building right behind the first one.
Where is he going?, that doesn't seems like a place for working on a video or even a sound studio at all.
He probably is cheating on you, you naive girl, these thoughts kept replaying in my mind the nearer I came.
I shok my head to get a clear thought, but failed deeply.
I felt my eyes getting wet just by thinking of him cheating on me with another woman. Or another man?
