First off before I start writing, no one has commented! No one! Maybe I should say stuff like do you like Kido or Triko more! Either way since nobody commented I'm doing a bit of both. Hope you enjoy and PLEASE REMEMBER TO COMMENT!!! It helps me a lot on deciding ships.

Kiko was SO happy.

She was on Cloud 9 at the moment.

Her crush had asked her out to the Snow Ball and saved her from death all in the same day! How could she possibly be anything more than ecstatic?

She was twirling around on the dance floor with Tristan and it was a dream come true.

Ahhh...Tristan. He was so perfect in every way! His blue eyes shone like pristine pools of blue, his ginger hair reminded her of freshly-squeezed orange juice and baked carrots and he was so charming and handsome! Her dream prince.

While she was mooning over the look of his eyes on hers and dancing in his arms many things happened as you know. Agatha and Tedros kissed. Hort actually danced with Sophie and amazingly kissed her. Hester and Anadil had kissed too. Beatrix and Chaddick had slipped away to the staircase. Reena and Nicholas had gone to the balcony.

But she didn't notice a girl in the corner of the No Ball hall sobbing.

As the Glory Of Love came on she kissed Tristan. She KISSED Tristan! She couldn't believe it. When they stopped he just smiled and said he had to go and get some punch for them. Sure, Kiko knew this was code for "I need to brag to my mates." But she was too shocked to reply.

She was running her fingers over her lips and thinking of the soft lips that had touched them. It felt weird. She was sure she would have felt happy, and on the one hand she was warm and glowing and beaming from ear to ear. On the other...She felt odd.

It felt kind of...wrong. Like she shouldn't have done it...or that this was the wrong person whom she should have kissed. And her eyes drifted to...that girl in the corner.

But it couldn't be her. Dot was a Never she was an Ever and they were both girls.

That couldn't be right! No way!

Could it?

Dot watched as Kiko trailed around everywhere running her fingers over her lips looking troubled.

Dot knew it was wrong to think this but Kiko looked....adorable.

She just wanted to go over and hug her and smoosh her face with her...

Lips.

Wait! No she didn't want to do that!

Or did she?

Kiko suddenly came sprinting towards Dot like her life depended on it.

Dot fought the urge to take her in her arms and kiss her.

"...We...Need to...talk Dot." Kiko puffed once she was over there.

"Err...sure" Dot responded.

So they made their way to a gloomy corridor that was filled with pink ribbons and...rose petals.

Both girls blushed as red as beetroots and quickly hurried to the end of the corridor where they sat on the floor with their backs against the walls.

There after an awkward silence they both burst out their life stories, hobbies and every single fact they ever knew.

Finally the subject came onto the thing they didn't really want to discuss.

Love interests.

"That boy you talk of sounds nice..." Dot said swallowing her jealousy.

"Well he is...I love him, I adore him..." Kiko trailed off, and Dots heart squished up when Kiko said she loved him.

"But..."

Dot suddenly sat straight up hearing that. Perhaps she could have a chance. There was still an inkling of hope.

Finally Kiko blurted it out.

"I kissed him and I loved it but it didn't feel right! It felt like my true love was someone else and when I searched my heart it....it looked like you owned it!"

Dot's heart leapt when she said this but she tried to keep it...well, cool.

"Uh...well I agree I was like that too." she said lamely.

And suddenly the two newly made friends did something someone can only describe as desperate.

They were desperate to find out who their true loves were so they did one thing lovers do.

They kissed.

It was short and sweet and when they kissed both knew this was the one. The one that was born made for them, the one that would always be the missing piece of themselves.

But they didn't show it.

When they finished they got up and blushed and apologised to each other, denying any feelings they had, saying they just felt lovesick and desperate.

"I'm sorry, but I think I need to go back to back to Tristan and I will send letters to you and see you at lunchtimes and...I'm sorry for doing that and that you weren't the one. Bye!"

With that, Kiko fled from the scene of "crime."

As Dot exited she watched Tristan slip his hand into hers and smile at her. Kiko smiled back.. but it wasn't as earnest or bubbly as it was before.

She watched as Kiko searched through the crowd until she found her, and smiled at her.

This time a real smile.

Maybe, Dot thought, love could be for Nevers as well as Evers.

Maybe.
