REY

We slip into the damaged room of the inn to retrieve Ben's belongings. Four employees are prowling around the room looking for things of value to steal, but prove no match for Ben's Force-push abilities. I am surprised when he didn't just kill them. That's what I wanted to do. I catch Ben cutting his eyes at me and frowning, reading my mind. I close the bond in irritation.

"What exactly do you have planned for us to do?" I ask, while picking up a discarded Resistance blaster. "And what was in the package from Leia?"

"I have already summoned my Knights of Ren. They will meet us. I have to get the Sith wayfinder from my command ship and then we are going to Exegol to destroy the Emperor together." Skipping just a beat, he adds, "It is her lightsaber."

Trying to push Leia's death into the back of my mind, it refuses to stay. Walking over, Ben wraps his arms around me and holds me tight against him.

"No matter what happens Rey, I need you to know I love you. You are the thing that keeps me grounded. The true force that holds me together. I will not allow her sacrifice to be in vain."

You think he's changed foolish girl. You think he has come back to you. But when faced with obtaining the ultimate power of the dark side, he will turn on you. You must go alone. You are the only one who can be trusted to finally destroy the Emperor.

The nasally voice warns me of Ben's impending betrayal and falling fully back to the dark side again. I have already witnessed him do it once, almost killing me. What's to stop him from doing it again? I need that wayfinder.

You have all the tools you need to find the second wayfinder.

The bag I have on my shoulder begins to feel heavy. Reaching into it, I find the object that is drawing me. The hilt of the dagger is hot to the touch. I don't dare pull it out in front of Ben, although my fingers keep wanting to rub over the runes inscribed on it. Is it trying to communicate with me?

I have to get away from Ben, get the wayfinder and get to Exegol before he does. It's the only way I can save him from the temptation of the dark side.

I know Lando is leaving and taking Poe and the other men back to the rebel base. The Resistance needs to meet their new commander and Lando needs to rally the troops for battle against impossible odds. Finn and Chewie have remained behind on the Falcon waiting to hear from me. They will be my only chance.

"Rey, I'm still covered in dried blood. I'm going to get cleaned up and then we will go," Ben states while placing a tender kiss to my forehead. My heart pangs with guilt for what I am planning. As soon as I hear him step underneath the water in the private room, I bolt. Only five minutes from the Falcon, I call ahead on the transmitter to Finn.

"Finn, get the Falcon ready. We have to take off a soon I get there!"

"What? What's going on? Where's Ren?" Finn asks with a frightened tone in his voice.

"I'll explain after we take off. Now hurry. I'll be there in two minutes!"

Running up the ramp of the Falcon, I'm yelling at Finn to go. I know Ben has realized by now that I'm gone. Taking off out of the planet's atmosphere, Finn is frantically asking me questions about where to take us.

"Any system out of this one," I yell.

Right before we take off to light speed, I see a ship approaching the planet's atmosphere. The feel of darkness emanates out from the ship in waves.

The Knights of Ren.

"Punch it Chewie," Finn says and we are gone.

Finn wastes no time interrogating me about what is going on. I try my best to explain to him about my vision of Ben and I both turning to the darkside on Exegol.

"If I face the Emperor without Ben, he won't be turned again." I try to explain my rationale.

"But Rey, you two are a dyad. That has to mean something. The Force didn't do that without a good reason," Finn argues against me.

"You don't understand, " I say, tears streaking my face. "I've seen it. I'll lose Ben again. I can't lo..." breaking down completely, I begin sobbing uncontrollably, remembering how close he was to death a couple of hours ago.

"It's ok Rey," Finn says, pulling me into his chest. "Just tell me where we need to go to get this wayfinder."

Holding the dagger in my hand, I feel the heat radiating off of it.  The runes look so familiar, but I can't quite read them.

Meditating on the Force, I begin to hear whispers.  Very distant at first, they begin to draw closer and louder the longer I concentrate. The runes are speaking to me.

If mastery of the dark side you seek, then find the place where the crescent meets the sea. Where the destruction of death lies dormant on the ocean moon, the pyramid will help you find your way.

I repeat the inscription to Finn and Chewie, trying to understand what it means.

"Garaw   Gaaraawaaraaw."

"I thought most of the wreckage landed on Endor," Finn states to Chewie.

"The wreckage of the Death Star?" I ask.

"Garaaawar," Chewie answers.

"A large part of the second Death Star landed on the moon planet of Kef Bir.  Ninety percent of the planet is covered in water," Finn explains.

"That's it!  Set a course for Kef Bir!" I exclaim.

Author's Note: Rey is behaving a bit irrationally right now trying to save Ben. She's concentrating on doing whatever she can, and not thinking about what may happen to her in the process. She has become rather arrogant. Sound like someone else we know? Maybe someone named Anakin?
