S2~chapter 15~ "miscommunications"

Y/N'S POV

"FOR THE NEXT ROUND WE HAVE
THE CALVARY BATTLE, SO GET INTO YOUR GROUPS"

I scanned the area, and noticed a crowd of people around Katsuki begging to be in his group. I frowned, maybe I shouldn't...I'd just hold him back. Plus he was already upset that he didn't place high enough in the race, I'll just find another group.

"Y/n! Get your ass over here" katsuki yelled and walked over to me, Mina, sero, and kirishima following close behind him.

"I don't want you to feel like you have to have me on your team...just because we're dating" I murmured.

"I want you in my group because I think you're strong. Now stop being a dumbass and let's go"

I smiled and the 5 of us took our positions, Mina and sero on the sides, kirishima in the front, and me and katsuki on top. We had discussed that all we really had to do was get close in on our opponents and then I'd use my quirk and snatch their headbands right off.

The buzzer rang and our team leapt into action immediately going for izuku, as we approached his team a blonde guy appeared in front of us and snatched the headband right off of katsuki's head. He smirked and made a remark about the 'arrogance' of the class 1a students, as katsuki started to bubble with anger he gave me a look indicating for me to use my quirk before they got away. I took a deep breath in and everything slowed, I leaned forward and pried to headband from his hands, then took in a breath resuming everything.

I handed the headband to katsuki and he tied it back on smirking down at me briefly but then returning his attention to the battle. We neared izuku's team once again as time was running out, I noticed that todoroki had quickly snatched izuku's headband.

"todoroki got it!" I yelled to the others who turned their attention to him now running in his direction.

Katsuki pushes my head down harshly as he was about to let off an explosion by todoroki, but the buzzer went off and time was up, we managed to get a good amount of headbands.

"IN 2ND PLACE WE HAVE TEAM BAKUGO" present mix announced and we all cheered in relief, we'll save for katsuki who instead screamed in anger.

I walked over to where he was sitting and attempted to comfort him, but he quickly got up and looked away from me. I frowned, was he upset at me because I wasn't useful enough? I knew I would just hold him back...

BAKUGO'S POV

There was a break until the duo fights, for everyone to eat and relax before their fights. I noticed y/n sitting with the other girls laughing and talking, but something about her expression looked sad. I couldn't bare to face her after getting 2nd fucking place. What if she thought I was weak, or that I failed her. What am I even doing? Why am I so in love with this girl. I saw the group of girls leave and my eyes followed y/n as she walked away with them, I wonder where they were going.

As we were getting Called out for the one on one fighting tournaments the girls of our class walked out in orange cheerleading outfits. I scanned past them to look for y/n and saw her flushed face holding her arms as if she was cold. Damn...I snapped out of my thoughts when we made eye contact. She smiled and spun around, but I quickly turned away from her blushing like an idiot. When I turned back I noticed her frowning and walking back to change.

Y/N'S POV

I don't know what I'm doing wrong. Katsuki seems upset with me, maybe I should just focus on the battles and talk to him after. Yeah, I'll do my best and not hold him back! Because that's probably what he wants...right?
