So the next morning when I woke up I heard people talking downstairs and I looked at the time. Today I didn't have to be in at work until 12 and its only 9 so I have some time.
I brushed my teeth and I brushed my hair into a ponytail and I went downstairs to see Josh and Lily.
"Hey LaLa", they said at the same time.
"Good morning, what you two doing here?"
"I came to talk to Keondre and Lily just along for the ride", Josh said.
"Where is Keondre?", I asked looking around.
"I don't kno, he let us in but then he walked off somewhere"
"Oh okay, I would cook but I'm gonna get ready for work"
"That's fine we already ate"
"Okay"
I went upstairs and I got some clothes to get dressed in for work and I went to the bathroom to take a shower when I ran into Keondre.
"Uh oh I'm sorry, good morning", I said backing up.
"You good and good morning. Where you going?"
"To work"
"You should quit"
"Why?"
"Because you have me and you don't need to work"
"Okay Keondre I understand that but I don't want to quit I like working there. That's like my home away from home and everyone there is like my family"
"You can still visit there Lalani but you should quit"
"I'll think about Keondre"
"No it's not something I want you to think about. Just do it"
"Keondre things aren't that easy okay"
"Why isn't it?"
"Because it's not. You quit your job, whatever you do"
"I already did. Anything else?"
"I'm just gonna go to work today and then eventually I'll try to quit"
"So you're not going to?"
"I don't know, listen I gotta go. I'll see you later alright?", I gave him a hug and a kiss on the cheeks and I drove to work.
KEONDRE'S POV
I shook my head but I can't even be mad, I understand she doesn't work just to get money but she does it because she loves it.
"Keondre listen, I know you not into the gang life anymore and everything but listen...", Josh started.
"Jay you know I'm not with that no more"
"I know you know I know, I just told you I knew you wasn't with it but I really need you on this. I need to make a deal with some people only you mess with and I know they shady but maybe they won't try nothing with you being there"
I thought about it and something was telling me not to do it but the look in his face told me he really needed me.
"This the last time. When is the meeting?"
"Saturday night at the Dingo Club"
"Aight"
"Thanks bro", he dapped me up and then him and Lily left.
I locked up the house and decided to go see my mom today. I got dressed and I put a chain on. I got in my Bentley and I drove to the hospital.
"Hey ma", I said coming in seeing her watching tv with Sam and Tony.
