Twenty-five

Yiwon

I got up early today to prepare breakfast for my other roommates that I lived together in the same apartment, I have been staying with them for about 2 weeks now and I just felt like I haven't shown them how much I am thankful to them that they allowed me to stay with them even though I am considered a criminal to them and I am actually risking their lives as they are protecting me away from the people from the Minatozaki empire.

I wanted them to know that I am not going to take everything that they have given me for granted and I have given it back to them someday, they are the people that I will never forget for the rest of my life. Especially Chae Hyungwon because he was the one who actually saved me from getting drowned by the deep and ferocious ocean waves and he even pretended to be my boyfriend willingly and helped me get out of the hospital without a huge problem, the doctor there also promised me that he would shut his mouth up and not tell my little secret to anyone from the Minatozaki empire.

"Are you up already? I didn't know that you were the type to wake up early." The main house owner, Yoo Kihyun walked into the kitchen, he was getting a glass of water for himself before brewing the coffee that is for everyone at the table later. "Are you cooking breakfast for both of us? You know that you don't need to do it because you are our guest and we should treat you like a guest."

"But I am still a part of you guys because we live in the same apartment and I have been living here for a while, I am not considered to be a guest anymore but a tenant instead," I told him while cracking all the eggs into a bowl before I would mix it with a whisk. "I got up 2 hours early just to make breakfast and to be earlier than you and Hyungwon, I just wanted to show my gratitude for allowing you and Chae Hyungwon for taking me in and not trying to get rid of me every other week."

"We are just too polite and thoughtful to everyone that we see, even my employees at the restaurant. And I showed it more towards you because you are living with me in the same apartment and we share a lot of the same space here so we are considered to be roommates." He smiled. "You are not planning to move away from here someday right?"

I always had this thought that I would have to move out someday for a lot of reasons, I would have to run away as soon as anyone knows about my true identity and for the other reason, I have to work for myself and not to depend on other people all the time. I know that Yoo Kihyun and Chae Hyungwon are really kind and thoughtful people but I can't take their kindness for granted and stay at their place for too long.

I can see that they are struggling financially even though they manage a restaurant together but it is still not enough for them to enjoy a lavish lifestyle just yet, they have only opened the restaurant less than 3 years ago and there is still a very high risk that F and B restaurants will have to close up its operations after 5 years, it is very hard for a new business to survive in the industry and they are trying their best to survive by saving costs and living frugally but with me included into the mix, it is only getting harder for them to have enough money for their business.

So I would have to move away someday to have my own apartment and not be a burden to Yoo Kihyun and Chae Hyungwon, I have set on this journey to fight on my own and I would have to do everything on my own, I have to prove to them that I can depend on myself as an independent woman.

"After 2 week--" Chae Hyungwon interrupts my words as he walked into the kitchen. "What's for breakfast, Yoo Kihyun?" And then he looked at me. "Why are you cooking breakfast, Woo Yiwon?"

"Because I can," I told him. "So I am here to prepare breakfast for all of us before we get to work, I am cooking fluffy omelette Japanese style if you are wondering."

"Can that be eaten? I wouldn't eat it if it is going to get me the tummyache, I don't want to miss half of my time at work in the toilets because I had your food." He walked over to the jar of coffee on the table and got himself 2 slices of bread. "I am just going to eat this, at least the bread is bought from the supermarket and the coffee is prepared by Yoo Kihyun."

Yoo Kihyun sighed and looked towards his roommate. "Aren't you being a little too harsh on Yiwon? She is just cooking breakfast for us for the first time and you didn't have to dampen her spirits like that, I am sure that her cooking is still edible, if not she will not be wanting to cook for us."

"Is it? I am still not risking my tummy for her cooking, you do know that I don't have a tummy that is made of steel." He continued munching on the bread, he is making me so annoyed at him first time in the morning.

With that, he made me get more motivated to make the best fluffy omelette that I can make and I put it right in front of his face and he looks at me confused. "What is with that face? It is not for you because you don't want it, it is for Kihyun who treats me well like how a fellow roommate should be."

"Thank you, Yiwon. That looks really fluffy, I can't wait to try it." And he took a bite of the fluffy omelette. "Wow, it is really delicious! How did you even know how to make it?"

"From the Minatozaki empire." Chae Hyungwon replied and I glared towards him, I can't believe that he just blurted it out just like that.

Yoo Kihyun looked at me confusedly. "What is that?" I shook my head and he shrugged his shoulders. "Anyways, it is the best fluffy omelette that I have ever had in my life. Are you interested to work in my kitchen, Chef Woo Yiwon? I feel like you will be a great help to you rather than waiting at tables."

"I don't think so, I still enjoyed waiting at tables, I get to exercise all day and meet new people, it is a great job and I enjoyed working as a waitress."

"Is it even that delicious?" Chae Hyungwon dipped his fork into the omelette and took a bite out of it, he was impressed with my cooking and he went back to his stoic face. "It is passable but it still needs a lot of work in this, I can make a better omelette than you can do." Just admit that you liked the omelette, won't you?
