Chapter Three
Barcelona"Hong Kong? Jayden will go too?"
"Al, I swear, hindi ko talaga alam na sasama siya!" she fended. "Chloe just told me he'll be going with us."
She sounded guilty but I didn't bother. It wasn't for anything serious anyway.
"I can't believe he'll go! Edi sana, sumama ako!"
Napasubsob ako sa sarili kong kama habang magmamaktol. Both my hands are clenched into fists while I hit the pillows beside.
I called Hailey early in the morning just to be informed she'll be going to Hong Kong for vacation. I mean, she once mentioned it to me but her additional information made me swoon over my bed and glide into frustration.
She'll go with Zywon! The motive for her own travel. And oh, not just that, even the twins, Chloe and Jayden will be included in the trip she schemed for herself! Oh, god! How weird could that be?
Hailey told me she wanted to go to Hong Kong all by herself. That's how she wanted to escape from the sentiments she have for her best friend. How come it's coming the other way around?
And Jayden included.
What the hell? Paanong sasama 'yong yelong 'ton? How were they able to convince him? The last time I was aware of it, he shoved me away.
"Isipin mo na lang na magba-Barcelona ka," Hailey uttered like the whole plot twist in her life is something I shouldn't mind.
I had enough for this day even when it was just starting. First, I have a hangover from last night. I can even remember calling someone by mistake.
Who's that again? A person from Barcelona who told me his name is Eros but didn't tell me why I should care about that! And now, this is what welcomed me in addition to it!
"Spain is nothing if my heart is in Hong Kong."
Ugh, I can already feel I had to blame Zywon for this. He must have known she's going. Nalaman niya sigurong gusto niyang mag-Hong Kong mag-isa kaya gusto niyang sumama.
That's her main sense of falling for him. He's always there, always giving the motive of availability even when he clearly isn't. Why can't he just let her be? He's making her get used to his proximity. He's just making it hard for Hailey to cut her ties.
I pursed my lips in disappointment. The whole Hong Kong trip with our circle of close friends seems to be a good sound in the ears. It's just saddening that I couldn't be part of it, just because I have other things to work on.
I never had big friend trips my whole life. My parents isolated me even as a child. I kept myself for myself, was told to close doors to anyone in the low levels and was taught to surpass the highests.
But then, I never stayed as an obeyer of rules. I made friends. That's the safest rule I broke. Baka hanggang doon lang ang kaya ko.
"Thanks, Hails," mahina kong sabi. "I need a good pasalubong, okay?"
In any case, it's already there so complaining won't just do us any good. I hope she can still bear up with her agenda as she travels with him. Mas maigi na rin siguro 'yon. She has to have his presence while moving on.
