Chapter Thirty-Nine
Once

Since I cleared up things with Jayren, I dwelled in peace for the rest of the month. Even when I know my words were a little fainted and not entirely meant, alam kong dadating din ako sa puntong kaya kong gawing buong katotohanan.

I was aware he's busy but since then, he's gonna put me before any of his priorities.

"Expect me at 7pm," rinig kong kausap niya sa phone. "Tell the guys to have a break for a while."

"Thanks."

He smiled at me. "See you tomorrow?"

Tumango ako.

Kahit araw-araw niya akong nakikita, ilang oras lang kaming nagkakasama. I understood because he's busy with work.

He may not look worned out before me right now pero halata sa mata ang pagod at antok.

"You're working this weekend?" I asked, when I was walking him outside the mansion.

"I'm taking a break this weekend," he replied.

"I'd suggest so too," hindi ko napigilang sabihin. "Do you want to spend your break with me?"

It would be a goner if I won't at least use his break for something relaxing. Kailangan na kailangan niya rin 'yon.

Kuryoso siyang naglahad ng tingin sa'kin. "This weekend?"

"Yeah, do you have something to do?"

"None this week." He smiled faintly. "But I'll be next month. I have a business abroad."

"Ulit?"

"It's a family matter," he replied. "Sorry, I can't say no to my father."

Tumango ako ulit.

Jayren's so busy for his young age. That's probably a disadvantage if people expect a lot from you. I was contemplating how busy I've been since Mamá enrolled me in different lessons, paano na lang kaya si Jayren simula noong bata siya?

"Let's make the most out of your stay?" I asked.

His stare gaze at me. "Anong gusto mong gawin?"

"Magbakasyon," sagot ko. "I want to take a break from reviewing too."

He chuckled. "Where do you wanna go? Out of the country?"

I laughed a bit too. "That won't work for two days."

He nodded, convinced. "Let's take your nephews out?"

"Put that next time," I replied. "I want us alone first."

"How about the beach? Boracay?"

That sounded out of the blue but interesting. If I need a place to breathe, then the ocean must be a good sense of fresh air. And I rarely go to the beach so this is a perfect time to.

"Okay," pagpayag ko.

"Should we tell your mother you're going with me?"

Umiling ako. "Malalaman din naman niya."

That somehow didn't make me worried. Not when I'm pining myself with the one she favors.
