Chapter Seven
Game

"I'm not going," Eros immediately objected.

"What?"  I asked in surprise, almost saying it out loud. "You can't turn this down. It's prearranged for the game today!"

Eros led me down the stairs before he faced me with inexpressive eyes. It's silly because it looks like he was more of my employer than I am!

"That's too much, senorita."

To think that it was just days after we made up from an immature exchange of words, ngayon ay mukhang balak niya na naman.

Umiling ako. "You'll like it! Aren't you a fan of football leagues? I noticed it kaya sumama ka sa'kin at manonood tayo mamaya!"

That's how I wanted to apologize for talking nonsense about him too. Pero mukhang labag naman sa loob niya.

"Sama ka na," pakiusap ko pa. "It won't cost you anything, Eros."

Eros cast me an annoyed glance. I shrugged and tossed myself to sit on the sofa. He remained standing just feet away from me.

"How much did it cost you?" he implored.

"That shouldn't be important."

"You should have used your privilege right," he said in a cautious way. "Don't waste your money over things like these."

"I'm using it right," I corrected and stood up. "By the way, I'm not spouting it. I just want to treat you as I was harsh with you from the past weeks."

His gaze stayed intent. "Are you?"

"Yes," I admitted. "Will you go now?"

I scanned through his face but it remained giving me chill. It was hard to look at it further, so I shifted back until I saw Abuelo coming our way. Napangisi na lamang ako. If I can't, maybe Abuelo can.

"Abuelo, I'll be watching a live football game today," anunsyo ko.

I grinned secretly when he glanced at Eros' way. "Dapat ay isama mo itong si Eros! Paborito niyang manood ng laro. Kung papayagan lang ako ng doctor ay isinama ko pa siya sa'kin."

Eros was close in clenching his jaw at me.

"I want to bring him along with me," I told Abuelo. "That's fine, right?"

"Bakit naman hindi? Siguraduhin mo lang na hindi ka pinilit ni Eros na manood, Clementine," Abuelo taunted.

Eros' jaw clenched even tighter. "Gonz."

Tumawa si Abuelo.

"Of course, he did not," I upheld. "He doesn't look like a man to do so, Abuelo."

After Abuelo convinced Eros, he finally gave up his pride and went with me. Pakiramdam ko naman ay gusto niya rin but probably because he finds it unexpected, he didn't get on it at first.

Use my pretty privilege, he says. This is Clementine's way, then.

The place where the football game will be held is in Camp Nou, several minutes' drive away from the mansion. It is the biggest stadium not just in Spain, as well as in Europe. Besides, it's the home of the main football team of the city, Futbol Club Barcelona which are also known as FC Barcelona.
