Casey POV

We sit in that room for what feels like hours. We don't really have anything to do besides talk, although I start carving detailed designs into my bow with my knife. At some point I must have dozed off, because a little while later, I wake with a start. I can tell that I am still on the table from before, but I am in a different position from before. Instead of sitting on the table with my legs dangling off the edge, I am leaning against something with my full body across the table. I twist my neck around to see what I am leaning against, and realize I am laying on Newt's chest.

I can feel my face heat up as I stare at Newt for a moment. He is still asleep, and it's a wonder to me how he fell asleep leaning against a hard wall with me in his lap. He has his arms wrapped around my waist protectively, and I can feel the warmth radiating off of him.

With a faint smile, I lean back onto his chest again, and close my eyes, listening to his heart beat.

I look wildly around at the walls around me. I am back in the maze, surrounded by grey rock covered in vines. I run through the passageways, trying to find Newt. It doesn't make sense though, he's not a runner. Still, I know he's here, and I'm not going to stop running until I find him.

I am running for what feels like hours, and I keep hearing Newt calling my name, but every time I feel like I am getting close to him, he sounds like he is in the opposite direction.

I turn a corner sharply, and to my horror, a griever stands before me, hissing. I run in the opposite direction, trying to get as far away from it as possible, but I can hear it catching up to me.

I hide behind a wall, backing up, until I feel something wrap around my shoulders. I nearly scream my lunges out, before a voice from behind me whispers in my ear. "Don't worry, it's me."

I whirl around to see Newt standing behind me, smiling at me. I wrap my arms around him, starting to cry. Newt returns my embrace, which calmed me down quickly. I finally let go of him, but he keeps his hands in mine. "I'm so happy you're here." I say, as tears still trickle down my face. Newt gives me an unreadable expression. "Casey, I wanted to tell you something." He says slowly. I feel my heart picking up speed. "I really like you Casey. I wanted to ask you if you wanted-" Newt is then cut off by the scream of a griever. As quick as lightning, a tail whips out from the other side of the wall and clamps down onto Newt's ankle.

Newt screams in pain and terror as he is pulled off his feet and is dragged away from me. "No!" I scream, running after him. He is pulled behind another wall, but once I turn the corner, I'm not in the maze anymore.

I stand in a hallway, with lights glowing dull above me in regular intervals. I then hear the scream of a griever in the distance, and I run towards it.

The hallway feels like it's going on forever, but I finally reach a door with a glowing exit sign above it. I swing it open and run through, only to be plunged down into a never ending darkness.

I slam my eyes open, and jolt forward with a gasp. "Hey, it okay." A soft voice says from behind me. I feel hands wrap around my chest and pull me back gently. "It was just a nightmare." Newt says calmly, starting to stroke my hair to calm me down. I let out a long breath, and let myself relax.

However, the relaxation doesn't last very long, as Jorge comes storming into the room a few minutes later. "Everyone up." He says. "I found them."
