Subtle differences (Embry Call)

Chapter 42

Right now I was getting ready for the wedding. Everything was set up and things were ready to go, the guests were starting to arrive. My dress was on but there was no way in hell I was going to get it zipped up. Half the time I couldn't even put my sneakers on without getting help, only a few more days of being pregnant and then I'll be able to hold my baby and do the simplest of things.

"I think you need some help," Alice says from behind me before effortlessly doing up the zipper.

"Thanks," I say turning around. She already has her dress on, her hair and makeup are also done. She had a bright smile on her face, although there was hardly a time when she didn't have one upon her face.

"How's Bella doing?" I asked wanting to know how the bride to be was doing. We wouldn't want Bella to feel uncomfortable on her wedding day.

"She all good and ready to go," she says before taking my hand and leading me into the room where Bella was preparing for her big day. When I saw her, I had to do a double take because of how dolled up she was. This was the first time I saw her in a dress with hair and makeup done. She looked great.

"Wow Bells look at you. You're going to make sideburns swoon," I exclaimed causing her to smile. She didn't look that nervous which was good, though I did worry for her having to talk down the aisle in those shoes. They were really high.

We talked for awhile before I went downstairs to join the other guests. Everyone was admiring the decorations and were talking amongst one another. I scanned the crowd before finally spotting my brother talking with Seth, Sue and Billy. I slowly made my way over to them, thankful that I was allowed to wear flats.

I can't walk in heels any way but even now it's harder because my feet swell up which is from the pregnancy. After 5 minutes I finally reached them and that's when Zander saw me.

"Hey baby sis, look at you. You remind me so much of mom she she was pregnant with you," he says pretending to wipe away a fake tear before offering up his big goofy smile and pulling me into a side hug.

"Well you clean up nicely too. It's good to see you in something other than black skinny jeans," I state shaking m head. It wasn't a normal day if we didn't make fun of eachother. "You also look dashing Seth," I say nudging his shoulder.

We talked some more before it was time to settle into our seats as Edward took his place in the alter with the priest. The music began playing and we all stood up as Bella made her way down the aisle with Charlie. The ceremony was beautiful and in no time they were both legally married.

It was now the reception and we just finished listening to people talking about Bella and Edward. The Cullen's were welcoming Bella into the family whilst Charlie was basically threatening Edward by emphasizing that he's a cop. Sometimes I think Charlie is my spirit animal.

We were all standing around talking when Alice lead me away from my brother and over to her family. There was 4 new people I didn't know so I figured it was her cousins from Denali.

"Nyarah I'd like you to meet Tanya, Irina, Kate, Carmen and Eleazar," she says introducing the only other vampires that are like the Cullens.

"It's nice to meet you," I say offering up a smile. Kate, Tanya, Irina and Elizar shook my hand while Carmen pulled me into a hug that reminded me of Esme.

"Alice has told us so much about you. You're the last witch," Tanya says also smiling. They all seemed lovely just like Alice and her family.

"I'm not the last one anymore. I'm expecting my little girl any day now," I say rubbing my hand along my bump.

"Alice says you're mated to a wolf," Kate says curiously. I noticed that Irina sort of flinched at the mention of wolves, which was strange.

"Um yeah and so is my brother, they're from the same pack," I say looking over at Zander who was sharing a laugh with Seth and Sue. Billy was having a chat with Charlie and seemed to be goofing off.

Bella soon came over with Edward and began taking to the Denali's. Some things were said between the families when I noticed Irina glaring at Seth who could feel eyes on him and turned towards the vampire woman.

"Could you not glare at my brother in law please," I asked looking over at her which caused the others to glance over. Irina walked forward and glanced between her sisters.

"I can't do this, they invited one of them and they killed Laurent," she says looking back at Seth which was pissing me off. Like why can she leave the kid alone, he's not doing anything wrong.

"Irina you know he was going to kill Bella," Edward says stepping in hoping to stop something bad from happening and Irina glared at him. What is this chicks problem?

"I don't believe that. He wanted to be like us, he wanted to be with me," she retorts trying to protect her dead lovers name and I sighed.

"Well believe it Chika because I had a vision of it before I even started school here," I say sticking up for my friends and family. Like the pack only kills vampires when they pose a threat to forks and the tribe.

After that little altercation, Edward took Bella away because he had a special gift for her which Embry told me was Jacob. I hoped everything would go well if the reunion but I was wrong when I heard the commotion going on.

I wobbled over to the area where they were to see Zander and Seth also at the scene. Embry and Quil were holding Jake back as he tried to attack Edward. My brother quickly informed me what was going on so I knew what happened.  Bella wants to have sex with Edward on her honeymoon because she wants it to be real like everyone else's. Jake didn't like the idea of this because Edward could possibly kill Bella.

The boys were trying to keep Jake back and calm him down. The last thing we needed was for him to shift so close to the humans. Some arguing broke out and I tried stoping it but nothing worked. Soon I became worked up and wanted everyone to stop fighting, I felt a sharp pain in my stomach before a bunch of liquid gushed down my leg.

It was then that I realized, my water just broke........
