Chapter 52: Apple Digiorno

I woke up in bed back in Bath, Bed, and Tears. I sat up quickly and was immediately hit with a splitting headache.

"Ow..." I said, lying back down.

I sat there for a few minutes until it passed by. I got out of bed, confused about how I got to Bath, Bed, and Tears. I swear I was in the ocean minutes ago. I turned to see Maple waking up in the other bed.

"Maple?" I asked," Are you okay?"

She turned to me with a scared expression," No... I don't think so."

"Me either."

"How did we get back here? We were in the Tea Sea and...and...and..." She started hyperventilating.

"Calm down, Maple!" I said, putting a hand on her shoulder," Maybe all that was just a dream."

"But isn't it strange that we both have the same dream?"

"Well, yes, but-"

I couldn't finish my sentence when I heard an ear-piercing scream.

"MUM! AUNTY MAPLE! PLEASE! HELP ME!"

We immediately realized that it was Nelson who was screaming and we swiftly ran out of our room. We ran down the hallway to the desert-themed room. We opened the door, expecting to find him crying there. However, he wasn't there at all.

"Nelson?!" I shouted, looking around frantically.

"SURPRISE!"

We were showered in a cloud of confetti and there were a few balloons tossed in as well. Nelson was under his bed and must have pulled the lever that released the confetti and balloons.

Maple and I grabbed him in a huge hug," Oh Nelson!" I said, almost in tears," Don't do that again!"

"You scared us half to death!" Maple said.

"Oh," He said," sourry. But anyway, I wanted to say happy birthday!"

I was surprised," Wait, that was today?"

Maple looked equally confused," Yeah, didn't we just celebrate our birthday a few months back?"

"You guys are so silly." He said and pulled us out of his room into the hallway," We planned a huge celebration for you guys and it's bigger than ever since we've never really had this many people here at once!"

"We?" I asked.

"You guys must be really tired." He said, still pulling us down the hall," Everyone that came here, that's who!"

"Yeah," Maple said," I-I remember now, Simon, Adriel, Tiko, Nep-"

"Yup! And they're waiting for you guys to get there!"

I shook my head," I can't help but feel like we're forgetting something, something important."

"I think forgetting your own birthday qualifies for forgetting something important." He said and stopped," We're here!"

He pushed open the auditorium door and inside was pitch black. Suddenly, the lights flashed on and even more confetti fell from the ceiling.

"HAPPY BIRTHDAY!" Everyone yelled and Tiko squawked.

Maple and I were in shock and Nelson was jumping around excitedly.

"Umm, thank you!" Maple said.

"Oh, yes!" I said, snapping out of my daze," Thank you so much!"

"Oh, it's nothin'!" Muffin said, wrapping us both in a huge hug," You've dealt with us forever so we figured we should thank you for dealing with all of our insanity!"
