The Night We Fell Apart

CHAPTER 10: TRIALS AND TOURAMENTS

The second round began. With the Uncalled Five split up, the competition is much more heated as each of them is excited to defeat the other. Walking into the subsequent trial, Carter and his team face a giant beast who, in retrospect, could easily stomp them with his foot. "WHO STEPS FOOT IN MY DUNGEON!!" His voice boomed through the walls. "Oh man.. this guy means business," said the guy standing in the corner. He looked like the guy to sit on the sidelines and watch everyone play in the gym. ''And who are YOU?'' said the guy, leaning on the wall and walking over to a skinny teen. ''I-I... am Flip. Now, who are you?'' Flip said, scared. You could. He was terrified, but who wouldn't be of a guy with a monster-like glare and towers over you. You could tell that he was someone that shouldn't be enraged.

"My name is Mike; now I have introduced myself. Weakling is standing by the door. Who are you?" Mike said, pointing toward Carter. ''I am Carter. I am a human-'' Carter had been cut off from talking as the giant rushed toward Flip. He knocked him away with a single swoop of his sword. "WHAT THE HELL?!'' Mike and Carter said simultaneously. "Guys, I am Derek, and this is my brother Hope. Now, what are we going to do??" Derek said, sitting beside his brother and Flip. Carter looked over at them and then back at Mike. "Oh no, I am not going to be responsible for the death of a weakling, especially a human one," Mike said, angry. He had taken a heavy sigh and turned toward the beast, rushing at him. He awakened his power, and his body charged up.

''Whoa." Said Hope, Derek, and Carter. They watched him go at the powerful monster as he even got knocked back. He jumped up like it was nothing, but that beast had hurt him on the inside. Carter stood up while Hope and Derek stayed back, watching as the battle progressed. Slowly walking toward the giant, Carter helped Mike completely regain his feet. "Mike, we must work together to defeat this monster." Carter knew what he was doing and walked toward the monster without fear. Mike stood there in shock, just watching Carter in awe. Mike caught up to Carter as they stood face-to-face with the giant. The giant roared and began to swing his sword, sending off a massive wave of energy. "I don't know how to release my energy as I did with Kyle..."

Carter thought to himself. His thoughts had been cut short as he had to dodge the gigantic flying sword coming toward him. "Hey, you guys!" Hope called out to them. "Find his weak spot and hit him there; then attack him with your full strength," Hope said. Carter did a full scan of the enemy up close. He took a leap of faith, jumped toward the giant, and ran on his sword, dashing his neck. "What the hell.." Mike and Derek said in shock. Carter jumped over the giant's head and caught what Hope had been talking about. "Mike, we have to strike the back of his neck!'' Carter said. They all looked at him in shock and fear as the sword from the giant came up behind him. Before Carter could have time to react...
