Prologue

“ Sunrise, ibig sabihin panibagong araw na naman, panibagong simula at panibagong pag-asa.” Bigla siyang lumingon sa akin kaya natigilan ako.

Panibagong pag asa at panibagong simula?

Napangiti ako ng mapait at tumitig sa mga mata niya. “ Every new beginning comes from some other beginnings end.”

Ang inyong panibagong pag-asa at simula ay ang aking palapit ng—

“ Yollane..” He whispered, binigyan ko siya ng ngiti saka ibinaling ang atensiyon sa araw na ngayon ay unti-unti ng sumisikat.

Kaya may sunset dahil- para sabihing lahat ng simula ay mauuwi rin lang din sa pagtatapos. Sunrise is my beginning while sunset, is my ending.

“ I REMEMBER you said that you’re in love—” I saw his eyes widened “ – how does it feel?” Para namang may bumara sa lalamunan ko. “ C-can you describe her?” Fudge, why am I stuttering?!

He looked at me for I think 30 seconds, before he sighed at humarap sa mga bituin. “ Yep, I fell in love—" He looked so sad. “ —but, my love for her is so, um— so hard and painful? Yeah, it is.” He paused for a second dahil may lamok na dumapo sa pisngi niya lmao.

But then he smiled sweetly at the stars. “ I can say that she’s so beautiful with her natural look. Her eyes that captured my heart— oh God palagi yung nakatatak sa isipan ko.”

Why am I hurting? Dapat masaya ako dahil inlove ang best friend ko! Be happy for him Yollane! B-be happy self!

“ You know what, she’s so pure pero sobrang arte but yeah, I still love that side of her. I love everything about her, I love every inch of her— I love her.” He looked at me and then he sighed.

“ But, just like that stars—" Tinuro pa niya ang mga bituin “ – I can’t reach her, I can’t have her. Wanna know why?” I gulped, punong-puno ng emosyon ang mata niya. Like parang may gusto siyang sabihin.

“ W-why?”

He smiled bitterly “ Because, she’s inlove with someone else.”
